Despite photographic evidence to the contrary, some claim the car has a race-winning pedigree in its current Daytona trim.  It's been proven to the satisfaction of all but the most ardent supporters (of that claim) that the car was built by Cotton as a show car for the 1970-1 auto show circuit.  It's certainly a legit Grand National car from that general timeperiod, and it's not known in what configuration that chassis was raced prior to being trimmed out as a Daytona.  Great, authentic car - it's just not the Southern 500 winning racecar from the '70 season.

Too add a little...

Built by Cotton Owens for Chrysler to display on the auto show circuit.   When it was not on tour, it was kept in a warehouse in Detroit in 1970.   It is likely to have race history as Charger 500.   

The last published price on the car was $550k.
