nothing like that over here yet  thank god , but if you find a red ribbon tied to your fence you've been marked for dog theft  :yesnod: A-holes

Yeah, I've heard of this happening before.  People need to learn to not leave anything valuable in their cars.  Guy I know doesn't ever bother to lock his car doors because there's nothing inside to steal; if someone takes the car, well, that's what insurance is for, but losing valuables in your vehicle can entirely be prevented...

These boxes would appear to be high speed code/decode transmitter/receiver scanners. The one kid almost walked right by the car........until the device gave a green/go light?

It's just radio signals and stuff; I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often..

Agreed doesnt seem like the right person wouldnt have too much trouble making this thing but im shocked the cops havent caught anyone with one and taken it apart.  If these thefts with this device are becoming as widespread as they say, youd think someone would have been caught just by dumb luck with one of these... the guys actually doing the thefts dont exactly strike me as mission impossible

That has been going on for years.  I saw my buddy lock and unlock a Mercedes at a dealer ship so he could have some fun with the sales man.  This was with a friggin' palm pilot!

When I asked him how he did that he said it was a lucky shot as he downloaded a bunch of codes off the net...

Real secure these cars...

Yep, if it has a computer it can be hacked.

Its no different and no harder than someone using the device to capture your automatic garage door codes.  :shruggy:

That's true they did but still, if it has a computer(s) it can be hacked. Future multi manufacturer firewalls can and will be breached.  :shruggy:
