Here are a couple of the things I saw at the recent WPC swap in Michigan.  This first pic is a 67 Coronet 440 that was parked outside.  I forget the price but it was a factory 383 car which was kind of cool.  My parents had one when I was a kid so its nostalgic for me.  It was the first new car they ever bought and Dad was (still is) a big Ford guy but he says when he went to the Ford lot and tested a Fairlane it had just enough power to get him into trouble but not enough to get him back out again.  Ultimately they got a red 67 Coronet 440 with a 383 underhood.

I saw this slot car set from 1959 and thought it was too cool to forget about.  (I guess not cool enough to buy but you can only fill your home with so much crap right?)

A giant Mopar parts radio for dealer installion.  :icon_smile_big:

And a four speed trans with Hurst Super Shifter.  I had this same setup in a Charger I owned once before.

Ghoste

Saw all sorts of other goodies of course but those were the only things I took a photo of.  I grabbed a repro washer bottle for my car since the one in there appears to be original and is beginning to get brittle and crack.  A correct style coil mount and other niceties.

DadsCharger00

so educate me...how much is that 4 speed worth?

Ghoste

I don't recall but it seems to me that it was a pretty complete setup they were trying to sell.  Likely appeared expensive to some guys but it was more than just a trans.

I still have my hurst shifter just like that one in the garage .. . Was in my hardtop when I bought it in 1982.   :2thumbs:
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

Heard an original red Daytona scissors jack went for $1500. on Saturday set up time.    Maybe watch ebay for a $3,000. jack, buy it now!   :shruggy:  Sounds like a vendor picked it up for resale....
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

The 4 speed itself not much but your paying for the shifter setup in that situation.

I sold a couple hundred worth but didn't seem like as many people were buying compared to last year. . .  :shruggy:

No but I have a pair of Cragers for sale . .  I was surprised that people were packing up around 1:00 when it went until 4?

I didn't notice that but it wouldnt have been much past one when I left.  It seemed like there was still a crowd in there, maybe they were trying to beat the weather and get home?

What you mentioned about the coil mount interests me; just what is the correct mounting method the coil in our cars?

On a 440 non 6 pack it sits on the front of the intake manifold.  The bracket is just a loop with two tabs to bolt it down.  Megaparts and others have it.

Ok, but is one side of the bracket longer than the other?  I ask because my Performer's coil mounting location is unbalanced, in that one bolt hole is significantly lower than the other one.  I was curious to see if there was a bracket that could fit...

Ghoste

I was looking for one for a Six Pack car and they mount differently.

The same is true for a stock manifold, they are in the same location.  Funny thing is the only bracket I find that would fit is a sb bracket...

This one fits the 440-6 so it should not fit ours.

Do you think that small block bracket would work?

Unless those have a different coil diameter, it should.  I'd look on other sites as well for clarification on the brackets, or call megaparts.  They are very helpful.
