Sad news today as it was reported that Pat Garlits passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. God be with Don at his time of loss....

Really sad news as Pat Garlits passes away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Pat Garlits, the wife of Mopar drag racing legend "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, lost her long battle with Alzheimer's disease today. They were wed in 1953. During "Big Daddy's" long career Pat could always be found at his side. It's a sad day for all Mopar drag racing fans. Please say a little pray for the both of them.....

Sad news for our Mopar Community, Pat Garlits passed away this afternoon. She quietly crossed over surrounded by Don and their two daughters. Pat was with Don for almost 61 years and our thoughts prayers go out to the family.

My sympathies for Don, this will be very hard on him.  I'm sure watching her endure Alzheimers was a curse too and he is surely glad to not have to suffer that anymore but they were a true couple.

I visited the Garlits museum in Ocala a long time ago.Awesome collection of Hemi's there.
So sad Pat's not around anymore.
