Yes, isn't Cerebus just a corporate chop shop?

Cerebus had GMAC Credit & tried to force Chrysler onto GM.  Fiat gets
my vote in that group of choices.  Fiat was good enough for Enzo :yesnod:

Its a reminder that a once great company was part of a collective known as the Big 3 back in a time when America was strong and respected globally as a people and a source for things produced by its great industrial backbone.  A time when the American citizens were proud to go to work and assemble great cars like the Dodge Charger.
Now its a just another small division of a foreign company that may or may not give a rats hairy ass about the United States and the people who live and work there.  It feels like "yeah, you won the war, but those guys are all dead and we kicked your economic ass so now we own you ".

In other words, nostalgia.

Corporate America traded in our position in the world long ago for wealth that was disguised as a necessity to stay competitive, and don't think for a minute the foreigners are the only ones to blame, these choices were made time and time again by the corporate leaders here in the US.

And the American people.  Every time we ran screaming into the nearest Wal-Mart to take advantage of the falling prices we never once bothered to read the Made in China stickers.

The use of the term "automobile" has me imagining an Italian guy with a handle-bar mustache, and aviator cap and goggles, and long flowing scarf.

The last time someone used the term "automobile" in a regular conversation our granddads were in diapers. They couldnt come up with something more contemporary?

Yea, well IIRC when Sam Walton started the stores he was committed to getting and promoting US made goods in the stores and investing in US companies and banks in order to keep the US goods competitive. He was very successful as we all know. It was his successors that diverged quickly and grandly from this to maximize their profits. The folks running to the stores had their part but don't underestimate the fact that management wasn't stocking the shelves with US stuff either so there wasn't much choice (yea not many were paying attention either).  It's one of the main reasons I quickly departed from shopping at Wal Mart.  While you will catch me in there on a rare occasion it's the absolute LAST resort.

The last time I shopped at wall mart was 15 tears ago and it was because they were open at 1:00 am. I had a bad battery in my company truck and knew that the next time I shut the truck off was the last time.

The only positive I have was that they were open.
