Yes, the inner fenders are cut out.  It was done in 1970 by my dad,  I decided to keep it the way he had it....considering the fact that I found a nos set of hooker fenderwell headers to replace the rusty ones on the car.

oh yea, Brian does excellent work....but he sucks at taking pictures!!!

I was looking at the roof shots.  I like the roof insulation.  Do you know what he used??

It's actually 1/2" carpet pad. I like using it,because the headliner bows rest into it really nice and it cuts down on noise better than the original stuff too.

So question for ya': I understand painting doors/hoods/deck lid separately is the superior way to go, but my question is how do you install the parts without buggering up the bolts/surrounding area and making It look cheesy?

Case in point. When I did my '70 the engine bay, Hinges, and hood was painted perfect. Then I removed the hood to install the engine and after removing the bolts and doing rigging adjustment there were small paint chips and rubs on the bolts and surrounding area...same would happen anywhere, especially the doors. So, is there a secret trick to installing and rigging everything and not scratching or chipping the paint or is that just a "cost of doing business" going that route?

Good question.

On the hood I tape off the bar of the hood hinge where it bolts to the hood. Paint that with the boltd and viola nice. Same with the door hinges . i mask that area and reshoot the hinge area with the bolts...

as for setting them in place, thats just a matter of being really carefull.

Nice work Bodie!  :2thumbs:

Hemi Charger looks like non-metallic 'Panther Pink' on my laptop LoL! :slap:

Paintwork has to be the most important part of any resto.
Get that right and everthing else will fall into place. :2thumbs:

Difficult finding good painters here in the UK now.
Very few bodyshops can do full repiants, a dying art! :shruggy:
The ones that do want a fortune, its not uncommon to sell a car just to pay for a full repaint!

Fix 'em up while you can, the 'greens' are coming think you guys call 'em EPA?

It never fails to impress me how good the lines are on these cars in any state of assembly.
