I have a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 2 wheel drive that the right front bearing went bad and damaged the spindle, it is welded to the spindle. With the coil spring setup on this truck I need to find a good spring compressor/clamp to remove the spindle. My question is who makes/sales a good compressor/clamps that I can get, any recommendations ?  Tips?

Thanks,

Mike

Put the truck on jack stands, put a floor jack under the lower control arm and jack it up, break the lower ball joint lose and slowly lower the control arm. If you want to use a spring compressor do a search on ebay for heavy duty spring compressor.

If you support the weight of the truck with a jack stand under the lower control arm you don't really need to deal with the spring....the lower control arm will keep the spring compressed during the spindle (factory calls it a knuckle) change.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
