Took my sweetie to the opening Friday night, first i read our local paper's move review which as expected entirely missed the point, and in the first paragraph, said there's a "red car"...

Bwwwwhhhaaaaa... sorry about the spehlling you notsies.. anyhow,..

as soon as we walked in (way early to get the best seats I noticed a huge group of folks dressed   in country clothes, some had real honest to God mullets, (WTF!? :o)   and two guys were in complete Boss Hogg White suits, and there were a couple of daisies there as well... ahem,.. Schwang..     well anyhow.. one of the boss hogg look alikes was this really tall and really skinny black guy, the only black guy in the theater as near as i could see,.. and I thought that was a trip...   :o

the Movie was great, the '69 is the star of the show, and the way the General Lee was filmed left no doubt as to that. i noticed the first charger had a black interior and the remade Lee had a tan interior...
My Sweetie Laura Lee (who, BTW is actually related to General Lee) and who thinks my Charger is unsafe, way too loud, has awful brakes   and a buncha other stuff that is just plain wrong, wrong, wrong,.. really liked the movie...
We agree that Willies jokes wern't funny in the least though...
the music was pretty cool, alot of old school rock like AC DC and the Allman Bros. etc. but just about the time when i was noticng this i noticed the movie reached some sort of emotional peak and was faltering.. this was about the time the race, errr rally started...
I guess, I'm talkin sour grapes here though as how could you possibly top a screaming orange Hemi Charger flying 20 feet into the air...
with a couple of college co-eds in the back seat and a case of moonshine as whistle wetters/cop obstacles?...
We had a great time, dumb as a can of rocks, but it's not some lame assed british murder mystery..   :yesnod:

Ya know, the jokes were actually not part of the script.  They just told Willie to be Willie and it worked.  When you see Knoxville laughing while "driving" the Cadillac, it looks real because he actually WAS laughing.  Unfortunately it was the best "acting" in the whole movie.  ;)

I believe my favorite part of the whole movie was when Roscoe opened the gates to Cooter's place and the headlight doors on the GL opened up. Made me want to go straight home and head for the garage. I was disappointed with the fact that the language was so filthy but at least the General was still the star of the show...

THE CHARGER PUNK

funny part was when he Bo says'' i wanna make love to it'' and Luke says ''No, you wanna make love in it'' and then Bo says in return'' No , i wanna make love to him'' i got a good laugh outta that-MATT

I don't know but a couple of redneck moonshine runners probably wouldn't of had the best vocabulary anyways. I don't and I finished college  ;D

Thanks for the new spellcheck ;)

I'll agree with the above statements, also to my surprise, my wife enjoyed the movie as well.

I got goose bumps when those doors slid open to the shadow of the general

Moparz, is dat U?  :scratchchin:

I'm gonna cheat & paste my thoughts from my other post;

It was much better than I expected, even though I still feel that most of the actors were incorrect for their parts. The worst of which was the guy who did Roscoe's part! To me, he wasn't Roscoe at all.
The ones that fit the best IMO were Enos & Uncle Jesse.

It was still a cool show & was great to see a Charger as the MAIN character on the big screen. :icon_smile_big:

I also saw how Travis' General got that munched right fender. :o :icon_smile_big:

Oh & I agree about the swearing, some of it was uncalled for. Sometimes it seemed they were swearing for the shock factor...it just seemed out of place in the movie to me.
The outtake when whats-his-bucket was hanging from the fence by one leg & the other putz came up & unzipped his fly...although admittedly funny, it wasn't called for in the movie at all.

One thing I noticed about the movie was how often the inside door lock holes changed position.  :smilielol:
Apparently they had a few '68 doors in the mix.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I'm serious! :smilielol:
For about half the interior takes, I was watching the door lock holes go back & forth!

I know, I'm a nut for sure. ;D

Yep...it gave me chills.  I was choked up for a moment.  Seriously it gave me chills and damn just the way that whole scene was filmed was very very cool.

that's what i was trying to say, up top,.. with sooo many wonderful CHARGER moments, it flying and beating the holy livin crap outta all the cops and other cars and stuff, it was harder and harder to top...
so some of the scenes were just plain old flat..  :P
i thought the Lab scene was pretty funy though,..  :icon_smile_big:

The movie was great, funny, ups and downs, some suspense, I liked the actors from that cop movie that were in there, when he pulled them over at the school, that was too funny.  I am going to see the movie again next week with my brother and dad.

I didn't notice any bad language, loved the sound track.

How in the heck did you notice the door locks were in a different place, now that is observant.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.
