There were rumors back on Sept of '13 that AutoWorld was coming out with a new '69 Charger R/T 1:18 model which included the V21 Hood Performance Treatment.....Well its official!   Due out in April of '14 is this little gem.

Not sure if I had anything to do with them picking Hemi Orange with a black roof, stripe & interior ;)

Pics look pretty cool (with a few inaccuracies that I can see....hopefully these are early prototype pics)  I already pre ordered one for myself.   I think this makes it easier for me to add the V21 to my car ;)

They could have at least put a New York plate on it.

Just think of the trouble you'll make for the T-shirt / clock / coffee mug / etc. folks, who will have to trash all their old inventory when it no longer matches your car!

I spied that on their website after your initial post, although apparently this new mold/series won't have opening doors, etc.  "to keep the costs down."  Doesn't bother me, to be honest.

Chris, are you going to put the engine callouts back over the V21 blackout if you go that route?

Just 6T9 CHGR

If I do the V21 it will be "stock" for '69.....  no callouts.  What you think?

Sounds like a winner to me :2thumbs:  Might I suggest that you lay out some black construction paper as a temporary mock up of the stripes to make sure that is exactly what you want.

I actually have a stencil full sized tracing from a factory V21 equipped '69 courtesy of member LeesRT

Used it for a little preview when I got them back on 2006

We used it on Bill's Sublime '69 already and it worked out well

I also did some quick "paintwork" back then too....as you can see I have been contemplating this for a while ;)

But, it's not just a perfectly orange hood.  He's already got black call outs already.

I would have to agree with v21 with call outs.

think V21 would look good on mine too , although if I done it , would be bothering me its not  coded for V21 , & not original to the car ,  even though ive changed  top vinyl color  :P :shruggy:

Remember Chris, you are the one who made your car world famous and like any celebrity it is now public domain.  You can ask opinions about the car, but it belongs just as much to us now so you are lighting a tinderbox here.  (no you still have to pay all the bills- you don't see me flipping for Lohan rehab or Kardashian divorce lawyers)
