so it seems everyone agrees he's a real nice guy with a mile of talent that just keeps painting two tone cars despite the fact most were over them years ago  :yesnod:

Yeah, basically.

I remember the show about the Coronet, & thinking it wasn't one of the better designs. However, IIRC Chip did not design that car in that episode, his co-host Chris did.
I happen to really enjoy the show & like many of his designs, but there a few that did nothing for me as well. I really liked the '71 Challenger, but then there was another Challenger build ('72? '73?) that I did not like at all.

Like it or hate it, it is definitely one of the better car build-themed shows out there. The premise of the show is the best. It could be about flippers that show how little they can build a car for to see how much profit the host can make at the end, or a 60-minute long infomercial. But it's not. It's about helping someone who may be less fortunate, or who may not have the means or skills to do so.
:2thumbs: yep he's a quality guy, a really good person, with immense talent, multiple Riddler Award winners builds, he doesn't try to do what everyone else has, he wants the cars to be recognizable as an Overhaulin' car at 1st glance... he owns & sell wheels, he's going to use his product, he's a true artist, has more talent than most will ever have... IMHFO the hater purist crowd, don't & won't ever like his builds or paint jobs because they don't like to see anything, "except stock looking stuff", there's nothing wrong with that, but that's not what the premise of the show is all about, he has done a few more like stock but they are the exception... I've met & talked to Chip a few times, he's a great guy, great car guy, great family guy, great automotive artists... IMHFO most of his cars/builds, most people don't have no clue of what he's built, most only know what they see in mags or on Overhaulin'... I think I'm a decent car builder/hobbyist, welder body, paint guy enthusiast & I'd love to have his professional automotive skills, his automotive talent/insight, his attention to detail {even if it may not be my exact style}, his way to subtly change stuff & make you look & say "what's different about that ?" & his product support or knowledge base, if he can't do it all himself , he has/knows someone that can.... I believe he can & will build anything, including 100% OEM Restorations... But there's 10's of thousands of them out there already thou... Now after saying all that, I'm not a big fan of a few of the builds, some of the paint isn't to my liking either, some I think is great, some not so great, but that's just my likes or dislikes... I'm not a big fan of "too big of hoops" either {but it depends on the car & what rim/hoop sizes, my opinions vary vastly}, but I like allot stuff other than just 100% stock OEM appearing cars... I'm much more of a day 2 type guy anyway, I like something that not everyone has or is doing... I pretty much like mostly stock body lines, clean trim, clean bumpers, tires tucked under the fenders, nice styled wheels, good big brakes {require slightly bigger hoops} better suspension & I have no use for the big sound systems, I think it's a waste, anymore than a decent/modest sounds system, with good crossovers & speakers... To me the engine & related mods are music to my ears... Everyone's taste is different, everyone has an opinion, mine is; I like the show much better than most all the cars shows... There's far more to Chip Foose than what you see on Overhaulin'... I live by... Build it how you want it, drive it like you stole it & damn the rest !! who cares, what other people think, about your car or your choices !! to each there own  :nana:

Im glad im not lime u guys I dr8ve around in 20s in back and 18s up front lol....u guys still drive with all drums?  Someone once told me on their charger all 4 drums are beter than 4 discs due to greater stopping power  :2thumbs:

Never heard that before.  Foose is a Douche.  Hey, that rhymes  :scratchchin:.

GOTWING

I like Chip I think he truly enjoys what he does for these people, but I agree it seems like every Mopar he does I end up hating it ! the GM cars he does I think most of them actually look pretty darn good. The 71 Challenger he did was horrible, I hated it. And yes that 67 looked like crap too. He did a blue 69 Roadrunner convertible that was just ok, I would rather have had it restored to original with maybe some vintage mags or repo suicide rims but we know he doesn't do oe restorations. Overall though I enjoy the show and actually have all of the DVD's.  ( my wife surprised me with them one year )  :2thumbs:

I don't like what he does to the cars at all. I have always hated big rims. IMHO the old cars should never have a rim bigger than 16". I suppose the guys that like his cars and wheels are the same ones that like the ricer cars and the mufflers that sound like crap.

Yup, anyone who owns a classic car with big wheels is just a ricer with a car that sounds like crap:

I hope that black 68 is not a real R/T, if it is it's ruined.

1974dodgecharger

There all ruined when u think about it based on some peoples opinions.   There guys on the forum who will tell u all drums work best than discs, also that anything bigger than 14 in rims are crap, anything wider than 8inch tire gives u decrease performance,  among other things.
Im glad im all riced out myself...pft..I need more though lol

The show is on it's last leg if it's on the Velosity channel.  Let's face it, they don't get the viewers like the other channels.

For whatever reason, whenever you see these highly modified Chargers, or these pro-touring Chargers - 8 times out of 10 it's a '68.  Why is that??? :shruggy:

... forgot to reference this.  And if you look on Hemmings, you'll see the same thing - a few modified Chargers - all of them 68s

My next move would be to follow in Freds footsteps and get a HEMI only because its easier to change out spark plugs  :icon_smile_big:

Please explain how one of the sexiest looking chargers on the planet is ruined if it was an R/T?   :shruggy:  That car is so far above and beyond what a stock R/T is capable of anyways. Track raced, rally raced, auto crossed, driven across country many times, chasing super cars...If that is ruined then sign me up.
