Anyone on here buy a Daytona/Superbird in the San Antonio, Texas area...

back in the late 70's or early 80's?  Just curious since I remember seeing this car when I was a kid.  I believe it was blue, white, and maybe red.  The car was located by Terrell Wells Middle School on the south side of San Antonio, Texas.  I'm just wondering if this car is now owned by someone on here.

Maybe Allen owns it from TX he has a daytona that appears blue in pictures .And is a original red or orange car.Also from the daytona shiplist Mitchell Motors located in San Antonio lists a daytona XX29L9B381529

The only Wing Cars that I remember from the south side of SA where a B5 Blue Hemi Superbird and a black Coronet "converted" to a Superbird wanna-bee.  My FY1 Yellow Superbird came from the north side of SA, as did a V2 Orange Daytona...  There were several other Aero Cars in the San Antonio area, including about 8 Superbirds and 2 Daytonas... but none match your description IIRC.

I did not roam the south side too much, and do not remember a multi-colored Wing Car of any kind.  I lived near Thousand Oaks & Nacodoches, and scouted out the North & East sides of San Antonio as well as areas north and east of the city.  My Superbird was sitting in a driveway a block or two west of NW Military Highway, and I bought it after a few months of off-and-on negotiations.  I will ask around next time that I talk to back-in-the-day Mopar Motorheads from San Antonio...

I wish I could find a back-in-the-day pic of my bird when it was in El Paso. The earliest info that I have is of a guy that bought it in '77 there in El Paso. It was last titled in Texas in '82. It then went to Cerritos, CA. Shortly after that Jim Radke owned it.

That's cool and no biggie if you don't find anything.  I just figured I would ask and see what was out there.

The blue Hemi Superbird in San Antonio was purchased by my friend from the original family owners a few years ago. It is still unrestored original condition other than a repaint back in the 80's.
It's nesting in the hill country not far from where it was purchased.

...mid 1980s, my neighbor in Indiana purchased a white Daytona with red and blue stars and stripes, no idea where he purchased the car...it was an original F6 Green car...small world when two people a quarter mile apart both own F6 Daytonas

I remember that car VERY well........ I discovered that car when I was TDY to Kelly AFB back in '88. I was driving around in my, then daily driver, '70 six pack Charger R/T. After work each day, I would cruise around the local neighborhoods around the base to see if I could find something. Well, one day I surely did !!! I came around the corner and parked in the grass next to the road in the guys front yard, was this B5 Superbird. I about shit my pants.... The owner was washing his Dodge Van. I pulled up and we chatted. Guess he thought I was cool since I drove up in the R/T. Anywho, I asked if I could check the 'Bird out and he said "No Problem". I did..... Walked around to the driver's front, looked in the windshield at the VIN and dang !!!! A freakin' "R" for the fifth digit !!!! I asked if I could open the hood and once again, he said "No Problem". Yeap, true blue unmolested 426 Hemi sitting there............ Wow !!!!

Now you own it? Man, I'll be in the Hill Country soon I think for the Valentine's cruise, maybe with the Daytona...........

Bring that Daytona to the V cruise and ill have to get my Bird out.... Two winged cars navigating the hill country would certainly be a spectacle to see

wow, i didn't know that john got it from dave. danny, do you recall the bowling alley just north of town on (oddly-named) western road? dabney lived in the addition just north of it, while larry lived just past there. dabney had a handful of wing cars over the years. he worked at the local plant with dad back then (later on with me, as well).

sorry for the thread derailment, but it is still mind-boggling how many daytonas and superbirds were/are in this part of the state, and how, decades later, the history of several of them intersect on this forum.
