Sixty here today. Pulled the cover off and dumped some gas in the carb. She fired up with minimal fuss and I let her idle while I did some paperwork (my 10-year old stood guard).  I did notice one unusual thing. When I pulled the dipstick to check the oil, I had a hard time getting it back in. The tip had a little lip bent into it at the end, is that normal? I simply cant remember.

My dipstick requires effort to replace as well, but I know that mine is bent and not in original form.  You could try tweaking it, but may be better to buy a new tube and stick...

My was as well a bit hard to push back in!Maybe they stay in there like that :scratchchin: ?

I'm going to pull it again and straighten out the tip and see if that helps. I tried to put it back in from perhaps an awkward angle and the tip might have hung up on something (the gasket on the windage tray?). What's sad is that I used to know what this should look like.

It could be that the factory made it that way for a reason.  There is a lot of air moving around in the crankcase, not counting any blow by.
