Well my name is Richard my son and I bought a1974 charger SE 400 engine. We did this to help out one of his trooper after that they got back from Iraq my first question on the driver side door frame we found a small white push button and trying to figure what is does. Where I get a good repair manual for this car. Here is the picture.

Welcome to the site!

You can find Factory Service Manuals on Ebay.  They are available on cd too.  Someone with that year car or book will probably chime in with an answer or picture from the manual.

Make sure nobody is in the passenger seat when you push that button.  Better safe than sorry.   :icon_smile_big:

Got pics of it?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Welcome!
The button is probally for turning on interior lights when opening the door.

Ghoste

If there is only one, then it is likely for the interior lights?  Is there a matching one on the passenger side?  Do the interior lights go out when you push it in?
And welcome to the group.

Not lights and definitely look aftermarket to me.  You might have to trace wiring.

Welcome to the group   Use the key and pop the trunk.  Someone may have installed an electric trunk lock.  It very well could be for an alarm, but I highly doubt it.

What happens when you push it when the switch is turned on? :popcrn:

Turned out to pop open the trunk.

That's cool, I'm not familiar with 74's, was it aftermarket?
