windex and a razor blade didn't work.

Have you tried a clay bar? Or maybe a headlight restoration kit?

toothpaste and dremel polishing wheel, otherwise Eastwood has a proper glass polishing kit , i have used it with great results

Or if there is one locally, talk to a professional window cleaner or maybe even a glazier.

I found a local business that will be polishing my glass. Not cheap but I'm pretty sure I would screw it up if I were to try it myself. Looking forward to some nice, clear side glass. :yesnod:

Once clean, don't forget to wax the glass when waxing your ride. Will help combat water spots.

Seriously?  I haven't heard about that before. :2thumbs:

Water spots are alkaline so you need an acid to neutralize them.  Vinegar works just fine.  You can use a crumbled up newspaper (like a foldable ipad) to polish the window afterwards.  Also a great easy trick to clean dirty windows.  A newspaper is really all you need.

Hey just try it with an ipod, it'll take forever!

Btw, the newspaper trick really works, on plain dirt, not water spots.   :icon_smile_big:

I've had great results with Bon Ami cleanser. True to their advertising, it hasn't scratched yet.

What about a paste of baking soda?

I worked at a Window plant for awhile and we used Alcohol to clean glass . worked great .

I wax all my glass with the car and I don't run any whipers.

I use that Rain-X stuff on all my cars, I'm guessing then that stuff is just a wax of some sort?
