What did the 'Hurricane Sandy' 68 Hemi go for?

from what I heard, it did not make it up to the block....seller either yanked it, or BJ found out it was a totaled insurance car and did not allow it to go through

Ghoste

It was pulled from the auction.

That actually makes me rather happy.  Maybe the seller will now look into the vehicle and get the proper repairs made.
Every great legend has it's humble beginning.

I didn't know cars with a checkered past weren' allowed at BJ's...

Indeed, what about the barn finds they've had in past years?  Memories of a faded barn stored 68 Mustang GT-350 come to mind...

seller probably tried to "mis-represent" the car before auctions began...just as he did on ebay how many times?

or just sell it at the price it went for on ebay?  The freakin price went for 80k or so and did not even meet his reserve and I think (major guessing) it got up to 120k and still did not hit reserve.  How much did he get it for to not be satisified on the gains he made?  INsurance company sold it for how much?

Ghoste

It was pulled before the auction.  Whether it was a B-J decision or the sellers I don't know.  If it was B-J, there had to be an overwhelming risk for them to take.

I thought I read in other thread that seller got car for $60k after insurance totaled it

Ghoste

I wonder if he's stubbornly trying to set a record with it now and prove us all wrong.  I know he's aware of the controversy and naysayers.

6spd68

If I bought for 60, I'd have taken 80 in a heartbeat...  Or, as I've said, spend the 15-20K, go through the entire car, clean everything and make it right, then get that money and then some back out of it...   :Twocents:

Mind you, I'd not have initially spent 60K on a Charger when I can just get a 318 car, dump the cash into a smooth restomod, and enjoy something faster, equally as unique, with the same head turner capability, for a lot less money...   :Twocents:

^ Wait a sec, that's what I'm doing!  :coolgleamA:
