As so it says  ::)

that needs a 70 charger (specifically) for his father-son project together to bond and only has 2k to spend and needs it in running condition.

The people that asks for such things make me laugh that they need a specific car I guess beggers can be choosers now  :scratchchin:

And the a$$hole doesn't leave a phone number. Trying out some kind of flipper technique?

Wright, I guess I should have mentioned that I'm familiar with the way's to reply on craislist. It just seems like fishing/phishing around when a phone number is not posted. A person can pick around the responses if there are any.

Too bad it has to be a 70, someone could get that salvage yard Charger that Cooter knows about and sell it to this dude and make a cool 1700.

A383Wing

Craigslist says you can no longer put a phone number in body of the ad...they have a format now that if you want a phone number in the page, you have to put it in the special box...I have tried putting my number in the body of ad and it always got flagged lately

most people before would put their number in as words so spam-bots would not see it and forward it to scammer computers

bull

Is it that jump traveler guy?

My point exactly when does a father-son bonding time have to be a specific car and a 70 charger, come on now!!!

As for the cooter commment

I'm sure a person could just throw a junkyard 318 into a basket case and call it good enough.  I'm sure the kid would be just as excited as if it was a gem.  However, it's nice to know that another young gun wants our cars.

Im not sure its for his son  ::) Im sure its more for him, but using his son so someone feels sorry for him so he can get a 70 charger  :yesnod:

Im sure a civic with no engine no anything will help the two bond together also or a old 77 nova of some sorts.

He could be just wanting to introduce his son to muscle cars. :scratchchin:  If this is the case, I'd give him a  :2thumbs: for picking a Charger instead of a Camaro or Mustang.

If he was on here, I'd recommend looking for a 3rd gen instead.

exactly, thats why I said im sure the 70 is for him he could of picked a 3rd gen your are correct.  In fact theres plenty on phoenix craigslist for 3rd gens in his price range he will need to tune the engine, but hey its father and son bonding is more important.

There are other ways around this other than the "special" box. You have to be creative, like putting your phone number inside of a attached pic or vertically stacked. Examples:

Sorry! Was just using that pic as an example.
If memory serves me correct I saved that pic from an old eBay ad.
I just liked the way the Charger presents itself in that pic.
Also the 555 is the default prefix number that no one has.
Used mostly in film making.

Help a brotha out?  Sure-here's a JOB APPLICATION for you and your son.  When you've made enough sacrifices, worked long and hard enough, then we can talk about Chargers...

I don't mean to be a dick, but I hate people who just think that the "wants" in life, be it Chargers, trophy wives/gf's with big tits/tight asses, boats, houses, etc, are things to just be given away or doled out to people just because they "want" it.  Why does it have to be a Charger anyway?  If the true motive behind this ad is a chance for a father and son to bond, it could be over a box of Lego's, or learning how to catch/throw a football or whatever.  Nowhere in the book of child-raising does it say that you have to have a 2nd Gen Charger to properly bond with your kid... :brickwall:

cavemanno1

I got what you guys are saying! However we know nothing about his life!Maybe he has a disabled child and he is looking after him because his wife left them and the kid loves a '70 charger more then anything! Not saying this is the case, probably not,but shouldn't jump to conclusion straight away!

Has anyone actually bothered to reply to his ad and asking why he wants a charger and saying that these cars are cost a lot more?

Just saying....

By the way,if you got into a munificence mood,i WANT a '68-69 black charger,with black interior,Hemi,4 speed,Dana 60 with 4.10 gears!Did i forget something :scratchchin: Oh yes,some gas money for 10 years!PLEASE!  :smilie_help:

Well think of it from their perspective,  with certain idiots giving them "free" cell phones and "free" food and unemployment for life they just assume all you gotta do is ask for it and it mysteriously materializes.

If it is not legit, you are right.  It is pathetic.  I wishfully think of it as possibly legit but out of touch with the cost of a 2nd gen.  If he were looking for another model he might be in the ballpark.  I don't see enough information to tell which it is.

If legit, it is a nice idea. I went through a similar exercise with my son.  My son had a number of unreasonable ideas and we worked through them, but we entertained a few like this one.  In the end, my wife (and son) found something he wanted from a neighbor last Spring for cheap.  It needed a lot of work to make it drivable and still needs a lot more.  We are just starting out and now I am wondering why did we start this.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I agree that this is most likely some guy trying to scam a 70 Charger on the cheap but I don't know how many times I have have
seen guys bend over backwards to help out foreigners ( and I'm not speaking of Canadians ) with cars , parts and  jumping through hoops to do it .
Lots of people talkin' , few of them know

I think I know this guy!!!! :o

I think he got one already....... :coolgleamA:

I stopped by a place today with a beat to crap Charger in the barn. Checking to see if it's for sale. The owner said he just got that from a Grandpa, or Uncle. Said he wanted $95,000.00 for it cause he seen one on Barrett-Jackson go for that yesterday....
