Will a (440) Six pack setup (with a stock air cleaner) fit under the hood of a '69 Charger, without hitting the inside of the hood? I am assuming it will fit since it was available in '70.
Anyone have pictures of their '69s with Sixpacks on them?

Yes it will.

it will, as long as your car has 3 speed wipers....if you have 2 speed wipers, the air cleaner will hit the wiper motor....

also, lid will hit AC compressor if yours is so equipped

I notched my air cleaner base to clear the 2 speed wiper motor on my 70.

Crap! I have two speed wipers. I don't want to cut the original base (its for my '70 Road Runner).
Year one used to make fiberglass bases. Maybe if they still make them, that would be a cheap way out.
I was thinking about putting the six pack on just for fun.
Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, it will fit. I have a 6-pack on my '69, like others have stated it will clear a 3-spd wiper motor with no issues.
There is also a Sanden A/C compressor on top, I only had to radius the air cleaner base just slightly to get it to clear.

I bet that's why my wipers have always been weird. Maybe a 2 speed switch with 3 speed motor. I have a six pack n my 69 and wonder if someone swapped wiper motors to clear. They have never worked right.

You should be able to find a 3speed motor and switch relatively easy. They are not difficult to swap out, especially if you're putting a six pack on your car.... It is worth the effort.... Believe me...  :icon_smile_big:

I think all that is needed is the motor, 3-speed bellcrank, and 3-speed wiper switch. The dash harness should already have the provisions for the 3-speed switch.
Anything else missing?  :shruggy:

Switching to a 3 speed wiper setup would be good. I would like to have 3 speed wipers.
The bellcrank is the part that goes onto the back of the wiper motor? Are all the 3 speed bellcranks the same? I think I have a wiper motor and switch. I will have to check if the bellcrank is still on the motor.

According to passion4mopars.com there is a "3 speed bushing" also needed.

As far as I know, you need a 68-70 B body bellcrank/arm.

Crank arm part number for your mid 68-70 3 speed wiper motors is 2822273.  A two speed crank arm will bind the motor and usually if you have a 2 speed switch/3 speed motor you get one speed and it will only park where you shut it off at, and same goes for 3 speed switch and 2 speed motor, one speed and will only park where you shut it off at.  Everything else remains the same.

I have had a few people tell me that they got away with using the 2822272 crank arm (A body) by parking the motor and THEN putting the wiper arms on.  I don't have one of every make and model to try out, ohhhh I wish I did, but I trust what I'm being told, don't have any reason to doubt it?

The bushing you need I also have and the plated clips.
