Im looking at how awful the body work is and that what I see from TV!

When was that one restored? the belly was body color and the nose to fender seals are in backwards and my wife even noticed the deck lid didn't line up not to mention how much she laughed at the nose to fender alignment.

Geez, and it's touted as the finest restored HEMI SB in the country with blessings from Dave Wise and the beloved GG....lots of glaring resto mistakes, poor assembly, so-so fit/finish, some fool was parted out of some serious cash!

The most asked questions I've seen here are about how much is something worth.

When a selling price is known there seems to be much controversy about it. In this case it seems to be amazement. But Barret Jackson is not the market place.

This car sold for this much at this auction on this day.

The sun will come up tomorrow  and the market will be as it was. This will be a small push in the direction of up but it's not enough to bank on.

It's too bad that we see asking prices all the time and seldom see selling prices.

Just no rime or reason to prices at this sale.
Guess it just depends on who is in the room and who wants it more......

The bird was really, really, nice.   And the timing was great...several big dollar cars before, crowd on a roll due to the Salon collection.

The money on the Charger 500 was remarkable...165K prior to fees.  Engine bay needed detailing.

How many more times can that Hemi 500 come up for sale with the same false statements. It does not only have 1,295 miles. That's how many miles since it was first restored in the 80's. Car had many thousand more miles on it at that point.

I don't believe the mileage on the White Hemibird was ever mentioned.  I'd be interested in knowing how many miles were on it before it was restored.  That car is identical to mine except it had a remote drivers mirror.  My car has California emissions. WINGNUT426

Agreed!   The engine bay was pretty dirty for what it claimed to be.   Looked like it had 12,950 miles!    Body/paint was nice.

Heck, for obvious reasons, I was glad to see it.   Yes, I know each of these are just "one off" stories, but what the heck.    I was trying to talk my buddy in to buying it, given the TLC needed I figured it would go for a 100K or so and be a great deal for him.   We stood on stage and watched as it blew past that dollar range fast.

Engine bay.   Can't see in the pic but the battery tray was black (and dirty), the tray support was corroding bare metal.   Nothing fatal, which was why I was trying to talk my friend in to it, but at B-J normally a lot of these big dollar buyers aren't exactly the guys that will work on their own car to fix details like you can see here.  The battery was an aftermarket with a battery topper.   Obvious issues with the upper radiator hose and master cylinder (remember, it went for 181.5 with fees).

The white Bird though really was nice, very nice, with a fresh appearing resto.   The 440-6 car could have used a bit more elbow grease before going up on the block, that would have helped it.

I would have to go back to look at my notes but if I remember right that car had more like either 35 or 80k miles on it in the 80's. There is a thread on the car on the board where a previous owner chimed in on it.
