I saw this post on Moparts ........ - Keisler Engineering has filed for bankruptcy. Man that's a shame, they were a good vendor for the Mopar community

Looks like it's more than bankruptcy, it's complete liquidation...

Ghoste

Wonder if he will (can) sell the alledged XP Hemi?

Where are we gonna get decent-fitting Tremec 5spd conversons for Mopars now?

Didn't Hurst buy someone out that was selling the Tremec 5 speed kits?

Ghoste

I hadn't heard that but Keisler wasn't the only one doing it.

Sad day for me, I might be one of the few that I had repeated good experiences with shafi
Hope the best for him and his family.

Thats depressing, i never got anything from them, mostly cause they are kinda expensive, but they were extremely innovative and i actually did a project on them for highschool school about environmental footprints and crap like that....    :rotz:

ws23rt

They have classes in high school about environmental feet print?

Good grief ---It does make sense I guess since the gov. has the big hand in education.---Of course we can be sure that what they teach is the true and whole picture. :slap:

RallyeMike

Wow, that is bad news for the hobby. I have talked with many people who have been very happy with Keisler stuff.

That's probably half the reason they went bankrupt; they're probably still paying for it!

Ghoste

It could have well played a part for sure.   :popcrn:

TUFCAT

The restoration costs for the project were probably written off as part of a "marketing" or "advertising" budget....so I'm guessing the car was basically free.  :shruggy:

When I am ready to put a five speed in, I will use a Passon 5 speed.
Passon's customer service has always been great and it is a true bolt in swap and can easily be undone if needed.

Ugghh... this sucks to hear.  :o  :rotz:
I too always had good experiences with them, they were very helpful & prompt.
It'll be real bad for people who have their products who might need replacement parts down the road. Myself included.

Didn't Hurst buy someone out that was selling the Tremec 5 speed kits?

Yes that was Classic 5 started by a former Keisler employee, I'll say though, I've used Keisler products/services for well over 10 yrs, I've bought/installed almost all the various Mopar auto and 5 spd set ups, as well as a stray Ford TKO and tri-5 Chevy TKO kit from Keisler, and honestly I never encountered any major install/operation problems, or service issues with Shafi or his crew..too bad, as we'll lose a Mopar oriented company

The Hurst (former Classic 5) kits are basically based on the earlier Keisler TKO mods, so that's one outlet for parts, then there's APT (American Power Train) again another company where former Keisler employees are operating, and again their TKO set ups are basically copies of Keislers set-ups with a few exceptions, I know a few of the guys at APT, and again APT seems to be, from what I've read/heard having the same issues that Keisler was said to have, you have a group of guys with nothing but kudos for their purchases, and then you read/hear about some guys totally disappointed in product, and or service with APT.... I know from some of my own experiences dealing with individuals/customers that purchased/installed a Keisler 5 spd, where I was contacted to help address the problem(s), I often found that the majority of the problems were installation/set up errors on behalf of the individual installing the transmission and or assorted components, sure there were cases of faulty parts, or the wrong parts supplied, or some parts missing, but in all cases it was rectified with a call to Keisler...

Keisler latest product offering the SS700 5 spd was just making the market place, it's basically a 5spd version of the Borg Warner T10 4spd design, Keisler was the distributor of the SS700, it's manufactured by Legend Gear and Transmission, so if you purchased a Keisler SS700 and need support/info/parts/etc contact Jeff Spraker at Spraker Racing 1 704 799-1300 in NY Jeff is currently the only distributor for Legend, if you need to contact Legend directly, talk to Bruce Kepley (sales Manager)
