I don't remember seeing anything like that in my car.

Pretty sure its the bracket that prevents the window from going up too far.On the curved piece on the end there should be what looks like a rubber band.

gasoline_24

That is correct.  You can use a piece of rubber hose to replace the bumper piece.  This is the upstop on my 68, but I have power windows.

Thanks guys, thought so although my window can pass up and down without touching it.  Second picture shows it installed,
first picture shows the 2 pieces I can't figure out where to place. :scratchchin:

You have it installed upside down in the second pic.  The part sticking out goes on the top and catches on the regulator arm to keep it from going up.

So your green beast has POWER WINDOWS too! (How nice!)   :2thumbs:

I was working on my window over the weekend (have a couple of broken rollers in the rear quarter window I needed to fix), and found that the rubber ends of the stops had decayed and fallen off.  Does anyone reproduce those, or does anyone know of a good solution (besides a rubber band that will rot off after a year or two)?

I used a few of rubber o-rings (per stop), nice and snug.   Then I dunked it in rubber Plasti-Dip a couple times.   Worked dandy, and won't come off.

I see this thread is old, but that's a window stop, '68 only.
In '69 - '70 the stop was integral with the run channel & used that plastic rivet in the glass as a stop.  :yesnod:

Ha!  Good one.  I did actually get through to them, and they said they don't have anything.  I'm actually surprised, since this is a pretty common item among all the cars, and it eventually rots or wears down.
