Lot # 826
Plum crazy 71 Plymouth Cuda CONVERTIBLE , original 318 2bbl now 426 HEMI
100k

That was once my buddy's car.  It struggled to reach $70k couple years back.   The car couldn't have been made much better than what it was when Tom sold it.

Although today's Judge & yesterdays '68 Satellite vert & purple Challenger did good I thought.  I'm not real up to date on the A12s' but I thought his Bee might have been soft @ $60k?  :2thumbs:

Seriously who the hell is overpaying on these cars? I say 20% value on these is hyped as in they gain 20% in value only cause BJ.

I agree the Bee was soft. Seemed like a nice car. Couldn't buy it around here for that.
Good deals can be found just depends on your tastes.
They guy who bought the 1998 Bently Azure Convertible for $55k did well, that cars msrp was $360k new and it only had 50,000 miles. Was still as new,
new Lexus .... Or Bentley Conv. :scratchchin: lol

I just enjoy watching the parade of cars I wouldnt have a chance too see otherwise.
Such a range of vehicles, you never know what will cross the block

JB400

It's on Fox Sports 1 today starting at 1 pm est and running all afternoon.

Too bad your area doesn't have more coverage. The auction started Tuesday January 14th and runs til Sunday January 19th
Speed channel here broadcast coverage on Tuesday from 7-9pm
Wednesday and Thursday were 7-11 pm
Today 2pm-12am
Not sure about tomorrow or Sunday yet

Bottom line is you've been robbed by your cable provider  ;)

Now you know what I've been watching

472 R/T SE

We have Direct TV & have one of the basic packages & have got the auction all week on Fox Sports, Nat. Geo. & Fox Business.
It's on prime time Saturday, first time for a car auction.

JB400

I could probably get it, but it'd cost me more money :brickwall: :icon_smile_blackeye:  I don't think it's worth it, especially when I can get on their website and see it.

War wagon

Some really good deals to be had this year.
Just about died last night when a fully restored 67 GTX HEMI car sold for $53k. It was a legit HEMI car and not a clone.
I have more tied up in my Charger :slap:
Tonight is all the Killer cars including the Snake and Mongoose

War wagon

140k for a 68 HEMI coronet convertible, and 500k for a alpine white winged bird :shruggy:
MADNESS I SAY MADNESS

JB400

Rick Hendrick bought the Snake and Mongoose combination off the block.

War wagon

HEMI super bird 500k , 440-6 super bird 130k both alpine white.
So hard to judge what cars will sell for....
Glad I'm not a seller, think it would add some years to my looks LOL

Cooter

Why is it you guys will crucify a seller on Craig's list, but will watch thus bulls*it all day long? Even DVD that sh*t?
hypocrites.
if this isn't someone hyping prices, I don't know what is...and another thing, if your not watching/worried bout the values of what they are 'supposedly' selling for on BJ, why the hell even watch?
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

Ghoste

I never understood it either Cooter, last thing I want to watch.  I think its just the thrill of seeing old cars go by in an endless parade on tv?

1974dodgecharger

I think its just cool to see old muscle cars?  I heard thats bad for the eyes and wallet though...now i see why older dudes stay home been there done that kinda of deal and then went bankrupt for their dream car lol....

myk

Production values.  BJ is some grand, hoity-toity, high-browed affair, complete with red carpet, tuxedo'd hosts, professional lighting, camera work, sponsors and high-dollar machines.  Craigslist is....well, it's Craigslist and anything there just comes off as being laughable or a lame attempt to get young college girls on a casting couch...

Ghoste

Hoity toity?  It's a circus and don't ever kid yourself.  There is nothing whatsoever high class about B-J.

:2thumbs: I agree as well---This auction is fun to watch but it doesn't establish the real market.

There will follow many high prices for cars for sale to come because of this auction and we will be commenting on that very topic for weeks/months to come.   It is what we do :slap:

I honestly don't care much about the rest of it, I just want to attend so I can discover all the different ways of the transportation of us humans'.

I have another buddy who went last year.  He's small time like me.  He said it was absolutely insane seeing all those different era rigs'.  He said once you see 'em all like that, it's easier to figure out what decade they came from, etc.
It'd be nice for me since I'm lost when it comes to the old Fury, Darts & number cars'.

Lemme see if I get this right.  The sister in laws's boyfriend's uncle owns an/some Alaskan fishing boats.  One of the boat's was on The Deadliest Catch's 1st 2 seasons.  He's into old iron too & I guess he bought a couple more rigs down there this year.
Anyhoots, he has a place there in Arizona with like almost 100 cars.
Plus there's another person with a collection I want to check out.

Than I hear Ron Pratt's selling off his collection.  He's in Arizona too.  I'd love to see his collection.

A383Wing

I just like watching the cars go across the stage...I get to see something different...unlike going to all the local shows around here and seeing the same cars every year
