Why has no one published these in book form?  They are out there floating around, Ehrenberg seems to have them all, that ICCA bunch seem to have them, those Faxon guys have them but after all this time they're still a secret for the most part.  Faxon started to publish them but they were expensive and had their watermark splashed across each photocopy.  Is it a copyright thing, a pain in the ass thing or is it just one of those knowledge power things?

maxwellwedge

It's a BS thing.

I have all that stuff for Vettes etc. Chev seems to have no problem with it. Barry W. had them on his site and was told to remove them. It's over 40 years old....who gives a flying f$&*!!! Bring it out. A few people have some good chunks of certain years. Frank B. sells some of it. But - We need it all available.

don't rick Ehrenberg have a monopoly on them  :shruggy:

I don't think so - there are about 5 people I can think of that have a pile of it.

Ghoste

I have to assume it was Chrysler that made Barry take them down?  So it was copyright?

you would think , these drawings would be made public by now ,  they are 40 plus years old , not as if they were the original blue prints of  stealth bomber or something , national security  :shruggy:
with fiat , owning all of Chrysler now , don't think fiat are bothered about Chryslers past  ,  if they are doing stuff like this ,

Hell yeah, if Ebooger can put them in a magazine then why doesn't Fiat publish them and sell them.  It makes more sense than the overpriced kit they did of brochure reprints a couple of years ago.

Mytur Binsdirti

Recently, I scored a rare 1968 Chrysler designer's rendition of how well the Charger 500 does in a wind tunnel.     :2thumbs:

Easy way to make some money; surprised those drawings have not been officially marketed yet...

69_500

I do not think that they will ever be totally out there for sale. I am not sure if anyone actually has a complete set for a particular year or body line. I have seen some quite extensive sets that people have but not a complete set for say an entire plant.

Ghoste

I'd just like to get a 69 Charger set.  Do you think collectively they are out there?

69_500

Do I think that there is a set out there for a 69 Charger? Yeah I would say so.  :2thumbs:

Ghoste

You and I may have discussed the Charger ones before but I meant more like say, collectively the popular muscle ones?

if anybody finds a source put me down for 70- 71    :yesnod:

You engineering drawings from the 60/ 70's would be interesting.   Probably need the deviation log to actually make working parts though.

69_500

There are quite a few of the other B body and E body graphics floating around too. I just do not know of anyone who would be willing to put a set together to be able to put them out as a set and sell them.

TUFCAT

I have some, and know my dad has some also. I'll see what I have.

"Dear God, my prayer for 2024 is a fat bank account and a thin body. Please don't mix these up like you did the last ten years."

FJMG

I do not know anything about publishing but maybe the size may come into play? The drawings are what, about a foot by two feet? If they are reduced to a more manageable size would they be all that legible? I never seen a complete set but I would guess there would be at least 500 pages just for one body? If you made 1000 copies would the cost/copy be in the hundreds?

Ghoste

They seem to be legible whenever a portion is printed in Mopar Action.  The few pages Faxon did were mostly legible except for the watermark and what looks to be poor photocopying.
I'd pay hundreds for a good complete set of the 1969 Charger ones.

Homerr

How big are they?  Can they be scanned?  Can I have them all?

69_500

Tuf that's a pretty good list you have. I will go through the list you sent and see if I do not have any of those.

Dans 68

I sent an email today to Faxon and asked about when/if these engineering drawings would be available. Here is their response:

"Hello Dan,

Thank you for your inquiry.  We've hit some logistical slowdowns in releasing them.  We still plan to release more, but it could be some time until that happens.

Melanie

I read that to mean "don't hold your breath".   :rotz:
