Are both calipers identical, how do you know which to mount on which side.  The only difference i can tell between the two is the bleeder valve is on the left side of one and right side of the other.  Need to figure out which is which before i try to mount the caliper.

Is there a way to pressure test the brake caliper off the car? on one caliper the 4 pistons all move smoothly in and out, and i was able to compress them all the way in in an attempt to get the new pads in, and then mount it on the new rotors.  Last time i tried the pistons weren't fully seated and I couldn't get the calipers over the rotors, so i took them off, opened the bleeder valve and was able to compress the pistons enough where i think i can get them on the rotor, it forced some fluid out of the chamber inside the caliper that the rebuilder put in there so i believe the seals are good on one side.  The other caliper however has one piston that appears to be stuck or will not move all the way in, i'm trying to use C clamps to work it in further but i'm concerned that the boot/seal is leaking as some fluid came out from around the piston when i was manipulating the pistons manually,  but the bleeder valve was closed at the time so it may have just forced the fluid out the wrong place.

Has anyone done business with Harmon Classic Brakes?  I found them on the internet and they appear to carry most of the parts needed to rebuild the calipers (and they sell brake pads for the 69 and 70 disc systems) which I thought were almost impossible to find these days.  I've got a set of pads I got with the rebuilt calipers 8 years back or so, but just recently started working on the brakes of the car so now am trying to figure out the ways to get the brake on,  the next fun part will be bleeding the entire system.

They are a bit notorious for sticking pistons.

Mound them where the bleeder valve is on top.

Thanks,  needed to know bleeder on top, now if i can unstick the one piston without damaging the seal for the other side

Yes, the 68-69 calipers are interchangeable side to side.  As others have said, bleeder screw is on top.

guy's you havent told him why the bleeder is to be on top, if you have to bleed the brakes and you have installed them wrong with bleeder anywhere else but on top, you will never get the air out the brakes :2thumbs:

Has anybody ever had problems with the brake distribution block? I think mine may have some issues.. My brake systems light is on constantly and I think my rear brakes lock up.. But checker only has a proportioning valve they thought I was high when I was asking about the distribution block and Napa has no clue about them... Is there any way to test them to see if they are faulty can a person clean them up and rebuild them will that cause the brake system light to illuminate? And also the only distribution block I've been able to locate is on year one for around $100..
Thanks guys

Unless Inline tube got their problems squared away, I would avoid them.  I got one of their repro hold off valves for my disc brake system and it acted like a one way valve allowing fluid to the rear brakes but not back up to the master cylinder.  They claimed that they had no complaints of it yet I found plenty of other people either on here or on Moparts who had the same issue.  I ended up finding an original one and had it rebuilt.  Your best bet would be to send yours out and get it rebuilt.  The same place could also probably do your distribution block also.
