My wife and I spent our 15th Wedding Anniversary in between Nevada, Arizona, and California.  One of our Grand Canyon guides on the Halupai Indian Reservation recommended we take the back roads (Buck & Doe Road off East Diamond Bar Road) from the Grand Canyon to Peach Springs, AZ and the start of our Route 66 excursion..   Well I don't think a 2014 Camaro SS is designed for off roading...  Sorry Hertz!!  If anyone here has traveled that road you know what I mean.   Video is posted via Facebook.  I will post a video later this weekend along with some photos...  38 miles of an amazing experience and absolutely awesome memory we made together on... The road less traveled...  I also have a bunch of Route 66 photos from Williams, AZ....   I will post those later as well...

I'm interested to see the trip. Please post a map.  :popcrn:

I took my family through there in Aug of 2011. Peach Springs wasn't much to look at but we spent the night in Seligman at the Route 66 Motel.

The first photo is a GPS route of the 'Road Less Traveled'...
The rest of the photos are various points of the trip which took about 2 hours from the Grand Canyon to Peach Spring, AZ.

Some more...

In the last photo of this set there are four wild hogs that crossed the road in front of us.  I was seeing 'black rocks'... then my wife said the rocks are 'moving'...  and they are 'hairy'...   wild hogs are UGLY.  By the time we got there they were hiding in the woods.   Interesting looking creatures...

Here are a couple more pics...

Snow in Arizona!!  I see that in Iowa ALOT...

The last one shows us getting to 'civilization' about dusk.  I did not want to be driving a road such as this (100+ feet drop offs) at night!

Ok...

So if you want to take an  adventure (probably NOT in your Charger)....   Turn South off of East Diamond Bar Road onto Buck & Doe Road near the Grand Canyon...

Take it all the way (38 miles or so) to Peach Springs on Route 66.
