Has anyone installed a new Gen III 6.4L Hemi in one of our vintage Chargers, particularly the 2nd generation Charger?  Not the engine based on the 6.1 but the new 6.4 392?  I would be very appreciative if someone could point me to an install link as I am about to begin this venture.  Many thanks,  Darren

Is it greatly different from the 6.1 that it would make the install change?  There are a few on here that have done the 6.1.

Biggest difference that I am aware of is the engine managment, which I think may be tricky.  Modern Muscle Performance has solved it though.  I believe mounts, exhaust, and overall fitment is generally the same.  Not wanting to be the first person in the world to do it . . .

Greetings all

I am from Finland, and my Charger is coming all original when restoring is ready some day, my second Dodge is not original and

I install a new 6.4 Hemi to my Challenger, I had 2005 5.7 before and now 5.7 is sold and 6.4 is there, and I I do final electrical work now.

One pic 5.7 and  6.4 together

I use Milodon oil pan and Tti exhaust,  computer is tatech, trans is original 727, mount is same than 5.7

Now I need some help with variable cam timing, does anyone know how big is timing curve and  is the solenoid variable or on/off, and what is the rpm when the timing starts.

Thanks, I'll try to add more photos some day.

I'm currently selling my Grand National to finance a 392 6.4 swap into my '70 Plymouth RR...I'm paying Street and Performance in Mena Arkansas to do the install and tune...gonna have a 5 spd. I have a 2012 SRT8 Challenger and the 392 is a awesome engine...should perform very well in a b-body.
I don't think it's too complicated...just got to get the fuel system up to the task and a tune for the computer and a couple other things and all will be good.

Tervehdyksiä, ja hyvää uutta voutta sinulle!

Nice, I've never heard of the Tatech engine management system, but the list of features is looking very good...I will have a closer look!

Interesting project, especially with the variable cam timing! Keep us informed if you have a chance!
