Says he's not selling the entire car? I wonder which part he wants to keep? lol
Dave

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Like most salvage yards, they don't need the money...That's why he won't sell the whole car.  :Twocents:

Probably a headache for a yard to seel a whole car from a legal standpoint anyway?

F8-4life

Oh my one landed in a pick n pull type yard! I really can't believe this still happens.
You would never see that in the midwest.

Pffft NO PROBLEM!!!!

Step 1. just buy the front clip, the trim, bumpers etc., then ask for the roof, the front frame rails the rear frame rails, until you own the entire car
step 2. listen to johnny cash one piece at a time/ general lee
step 3.??????
step 4. profit

i mean come on this is a junkyard, they'll probably sell the front clip for 200$? considering its less than perfect  :coolgleamA:

Oh, and how about all of us call and ask if the car is for sale, eventually he'll give in  :icon_smile_big:

the ad is 26 days old and climbing, I doubt much of what you see is still there. They want $140 for the rear window.

Tell the owner you would like to buy the car but you understand that he cannot. Then ask how much he charge to leave the front gate unlocked overnight.

ACUDANUT

The salvage yard should sell the whole car and make you sign a legal waiver to cover themselves.  How hard can that be. geez

I read a post somewhere, either here or the 70 registry that someone actually looked at this car. Can't find the original post but it sounds something like it was a project car that was never gotten to and since it is in the yard they had to report the VIN and it must be destroyed.

Ghoste

Is that the same everywhere or is it a California thing?

It is on the 70 Registry and the guy has already salvaged the frontend and few other items.  I think he's making a return trip for more goodies that other members want.

Remove the gas cap and let them keep it.

For laughs and giggles I "asked" (through their on-line parts request form) about the front fenders (thinking a little about a Daytona clone :P ) and got this auxiliary window pop-up. Seems they know what they have. The yard is only an hour away from me...their automated response said they do not have the fenders available and to call them.  :scratchchin:

haha  ,  not that I needed glass !!  I asked them that too  a couple of hours ago , figuring if  the rear glass is still there ,  it means the  body is  , although they could of cut the glass out &  racked it , with other parts etc  etc :yesnod:

I asked if they would sell the bare bones stripped out shell and they would keep the tags and destroy em. I told them that I was interested in the unibody to restore a car less solid. They took my number and we will see what they say.

That requires 100 times more effort than they want to invest in it. Been down this road before. They don't care. Whatever money they get before scrapping is gravy. To them it is just one more carcass passing through.
