Do you know of any Services of ways to search an old VIN Number?

XS29L9Bxxxxxx

An insurance company could look, but unless they have a business reason, I am not sure they would disclose the location. Same w/ police  :Twocents:

Make friends with a cop. If that isn't an option, then consider interviewing a private detective to see if he has resources for this type of search. The internet has special resources that folks can pay for to find all sorts of things.   Remember that the odds of it surviving are fairly slim (~10%). Your part of the world was vary hard on the cars of the 60s with all that salt and no undercoating. Combine that with kids that were like me (who bought'em cheap and ran'em hard!) and you can see why they are so unusual to see driving around now.  Also, I'm fairly sure that if you have a VIN, you can go to your local DMV and see if they have a current record for it. A trip to your adjoining States for the same type of search would likely find it if it's still around  (if they provide such a service).

I would try this first.
