people just don't understand that a couple of less grooves makes it kick like a mule        or a shotgun with slugs

The recoil change for those reasons would be minimal. Especially for the shotgun. One ounce of buckshot to one ounce of slug both with the same amount of propellant wouldn't have a noticeable change in recoil

The biggest effect on recoil is weight of the rifle. That's why military rifles were so heavy with all that wood! Sporterize a rifle by removing all that wood and it will kick harder.

consenses at the full bore target range that I used to shoot at was 2 groove guns kick harder than 3-4 groove guns      and I agree   . have owned all of the above and felt recoil is way harder      try it

does it have a lead tip ? if not it's full patch military ammo ,check date of manufacture pre 55 will have "corrosive " primers so clean it real good 

also if your going to reload military stuff has berdan primers  ,you have to dig primers out.  you'll break a decapping pin trying to deprime on a machine
