727 Rebuild(Warning Lots 0 Pics)

So, it's been awhile since we have posted, but we were mostly in save mode. We finally got our 508" monster running... soon after we had transmission problems. We decided to rebuild the transmission and make a few changes.

We bought all the parts from CRT.. John was awesome and made the experience a lot easier. The issue seemed to have been caused by broken tabs on the pump gears. Most likely due to our improper installation of the torque converter even though we made sure like 5 times that we seated it all the way. So we like to think it was just all the torque from the monster stroker haha...

Next on the list is suspension... it never ends... haha

We upgraded the following:
Ultimate sprag
3.8 to 4.2 lever
reinforced front band strut
We used a race rebuild and got 5 frictions in the front drum and 4 frictions in the rear
Full reverse manual valve body(with low band apply)
replace the rear servo with a billet one
Deep pan
PTC 9.5" converter stall 3500

We were going to go with a billet steel drum, but decided against it since we aren't racing.

Here are a couple of pics we took along the way. What was extremely weird... the fluid disappeared before the next morning... No idea how or why... never seen that before, but we have never rebuilt a transmission either...

You shouldn't be scared. It was sooo much easier than the engine rebuild in our opinion. The hardest part was cleaning the old black ugly paint off with wire brushes and wire wheels haha.

Ok, I see a problem! When you say "we" it looks like you were taking pictures while "she" built the transmission.

Haha, yea she likes the hobby as much as myself so far. We will know if we built it up enough in a month or so once it's back up and running.
