Looking to revive the old sound system and use the original multiplex AM/FM stereo which was still working great in my 72 Charger. Currently only the front speaker is connected. According to the broadcast sheet it had the rear speaker (R31) but the rear speaker and wiring are missing. Can anyone tell me where the rear speaker ties into the radio/front speaker? Also, to do this would I need the dash and rear speaker to be rated at 8 ohms or both speakers rated at 4 ohms each (4x2). Thanks

the speaker output on radio has 3 wires... violet, green and black, being black the commong negative, green front positive, violet rear positive.

this output should get a pigtail which splits the signal one to front, the other one to rear, somewhere between Radio area and kick panel. I can't tell for sure because I made My own pigtail, reaching the kick panel, then the rear harness up to the speaker.

about speakers... I got a NOS one installed on rear. As far I know they are both 4 ohms

here is how must be wired... HOWEVER actually shows how must be the wiring for double rear speaker setup. Single rear speaker setup only gets violet and black, something like where it says STATION WAGONS ONLY.

the rear harness section running to  rear speaker, from the splitte pigtail uses to become this violet in green to use same MONO harness made from factory on single rear sepakers

There is a guy called recharged on ebay ( which as far I recall is Michael Boros, a well know 3rd gen guy ) who reporduces these harness, HOWEVER this is something what actually you can made by yourself at home
