I plan to drag race my Charger again once its restored but I want the interior to look completely stock. Ive got a few ideas on what I want to do, and one of them is controlling my electric exhaust cutouts from the dash. I want to use an old flasher switch, and put it in the rear defroster slot and have it be switched by a relay to open and close the valve. The kits already come with the wiring, I just need to know if that switch can be used. the FSM just confuses me, but I used a test light and I think I figured out something by jumping a wire but Im not sure. Any body else try to re purpose a switch?  Check out my other posting in the interior section for my hidden shift light location. Ill be sending pics in soon of my cruise control stalk with the stock appearing button on the end controlling my line loc.

I don't think that will work. The cut outs use a 2 pole double throw switch. That switch has a center position which does not apply power in either direction when at rest in the center position. When you toggle the cut out switch to the open position power is applied to the motors to open them, take your finger off the switch, it returns to center and no power applied to the motors, closing the cut outs works the same.

The flasher switch is a single throw, meaning the contacts are either closed or open. Meaning your relay would be energized, or not energized. Meaning your cut outs would always have power applied to be either open or closed. That will burn out the electric motors on the cut outs.

You could rig up a relay panel with some timing relays that would only apply power for set time period. Lots of work though.

:icon_smile_dissapprove:  Well that sucks, but does make sense now. Thanks for the feedback, My last try may be to see if I can modify just the cover of the rocker switch to fit over a modern switch that will work with the kit. You got me looking into the wiring diagrams of Quicktime and Jegs and I should have looked there first! Thanks again
