Steve!
You could highlight the faults to me,that is why i ask you guys what you think of it!
Got screwed over a bit the last time so i have learned my lesson!

i know of the other car you purchased. i followed the purchase and all when it was posted on here. i remember that you guys wern't happy with certain details of the purchase.

i guess my question to you would be : did you fare well enough on the sale of the last car to recoup the monies spent buying/shipping to not have a huge loss and then buy again, or would it have been better to invest in repairing the problem areas to bring the car up to your desires without acrueing more shipping costs?
i understand that parts can be expensive over seas, and some might be just impossible to get.  good luck with this search. :2thumbs:

Nvrbdn!

We were lucky enough to get most of the money we spent on it!Wanted to make it right but things that needed were huge!Engine and trans were leaking and it was supposedly just rebuilt, needed new paint, new quarters and heck knows what else underneath the quarters, interior! So basically a complet restauration!
They didn't even checked the gas tank,it was full of mud.Changed 2 fullpump when we finally checked the gastank! How the fuck can someone claim it only needs interior just because it has brand new paint! The paint was full of sand particles, like it was painted in a sandstorm(not overexggarating),new suspension, brakes, rear end, windshield, new gastank needed!
We bought the gas tank, suspension and brake parts while on honeymoon in the States thanks to Moparsal who was kind enough to allow us to order everything to his address!Couldn't take the windshield on the plain so left it but took the gas tank on the plain! It only cost 40bucks extra but if we would have needed to ship it home it would have been a lot of money!

So if i knew what the car was like i would not ever buy it!The worst thing was that my childhood dream was shatered and i hated that car in the end!
They took pictures  on areas that were fine, never mentioned the cracked windshield and other faults despite  my request to list them!Rebuilt engines don't leak,do they! They even put the full filter after the fullpump!!!Even i know that you need the filter first then the pump!

I got so fed up with the whole thing i didn't even wanna remember it!
It was my dream to have a '69 charger on my wedding and i rushed into it fortunately! We were trying to bring her back to life for the wedding even the night before my wedding!I left the garage at 4am because we had our photographer coming at 10 am.My friends worked on it all night and in the morning at it was ready at 9am so we did drive it down to the photoshoot! They put a 20 litter plastic barrel in the trunk because the gas tank was full of mud.

Got back into bikes and bought a ducati but lately i started to miss her a lot!
The guy who bought it knew all the faults but didn't care he just wanted something that was whole! He had a '68 in bits and had 30 cars!Had a few restaurants in Vienna so he said and he was only my age ,31!He came to see me 3 times and every time he had a pornstar looking girl with him!

Wanted to immigrate to the States then buy a charger but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen so I'm after one now again!
Sorry if i bored you guys with my story!

polywideblock

did you get an inspection done on that car or just buy on the word of the seller ?

cavemanno1

Was stupid and didn't get an inspection on it!I believed the guy unfortunately,i know i shouldn't have!
I really wanted a car for the wedding so i rushed into it!
They told me it only needs interior and showed me videos driving it!But by the time it got here all the rust inside the tank got washed down to the bottom!
Didn't know what to look for like some of the guys here!

polywideblock

there are a few inspection companies out there or if cars near members try to get someone to look at it .

I didn't find this site till after I'd bought the charger ,I used    http://www.classiccarguy.com/appraisals.asp   $375 the first time and $350 after that for a 12 page report and heaps of HD pics    it cheap peace of mind      :Twocents:

good luck in your search

Thanks mate!

I have learned my lesson, thanks for the link!I will use it next time if i find my car!

Here is a cool picture of it just to see how the daily drivers are overhere compare to the charger!

At the least, your passengers will enjoy the leg room in the back seat.  Horse power ought to make it a blast.

The 69 looks  :2thumbs:

cavemanno1

Wish i could drive it daily!Don't care too much about the legroom but the horespower  :drool5:

polywideblock

have you done the multi level car park thing yet ? if not let me save you the hassle    DON'T   car parks are made for cars like the ones parked next to yours   very tight turns changing levels   just a nightmare   :eek2:

Wish i had a problem like that  :yesnod: because it would mean i have a charger!
No haven't done it but can imagine it being scary!

Peter Said "Rebuilt engines don't leak,do they!

Peter, mine do!  :smilielol: Never could keep a rear seal from leaking?  :shruggy: But, ever time I drive it, it undercoat it self!  :2thumbs:

Far as the fuel filter, they do go after the fuel pump.

If you happen to find one around St Louis again I be happy to take a look at it for you. 120 miles is not really that far round trip. Give me a little something for gas and my time and I be happy.

:scratchchin: Well, let me :drive: it for a week, or two.  :D

By the way Peter, are you down under or in England?

Ken

Thanks Ken,appreciate it!I thought the filter goes first to filter out any bits trying to get into the fule pump so the pump won't get clogged :scratchchin:

Actually neither,I'm in Hungary but used to live in England!Got a baby 8 months ago and moved back home!

well, i hope things work out this time for you. they are out there. and there are plenty of people around here to give you a hand at checking it out. :2thumbs:

Thanks,i'm sure it will work out this time!Don't have to rush into buying it and will get it inspected when i find one!

fy469rtse

I think it's a good car, engine bays honest enough, A/C's been updated to modern, car was probably in good enough shape for a quick re spray,
New front seat covers, rear is original, maybe door trims are too, showing the typical sign of the glue letting go and wrinkles to ends ,also has the one year bright squares on map pockets, not too many guys change these if there just flipping it for a profit,  roof lining or hood lining original, new carpet fitted also, al the chrome and stainless in good shape , dash is in good shape, all panels are lined up reasonably

fy469rtse

It's got some nice options to it , power windows , cruise , a/c , if you look closely there's too much detail to items you can't get in those colors, in great shape, to me shows unrestored well looked after car with possibly one repaint , I know because I have a gold car to do and have started looking for all the trim, those upper door pads are in great condition,

This is awesome!

Thanks, yeah these cars are not made for European roads!

It was the only '69 ever in the country so people stopped us to talk about it and even follwed us!Even then there was a guy who claimed his neighbour's son had it just like that but it was a 63 ford :hah: !
Only get positive feed back from people all age and gender!
Miss it so much to drive one of these cars and bust people balls when they ask me about mileage!Just told them all the time that I'm filthy rich and don't care about it!The shock and disgust on their face was priceless!

Peter. here is a link to a classic car dealer that is with in 10 miles of me. Pick the St Louis show room.

http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/search_result.php?sort=year&location=STL&make=Dodge&model=Charger

I have seen some real sweet cars there, turds and cars in between. Nice thing, no seating on the edge of your seat wondering if you are going to win the car.

Found this one on Crags list.
http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/4253558681.html

I know you hope for a turn key car with no body filler for $24k.  :scratchchin: I don't think that is going to happen.  :shruggy: 20 years ago, yes. Personally I don't think there is a thing wrong with body filler if the repair is done right. Mom wrecked my 68 Road Runner is 1969, body filler in the door is still fine.

If my money was better, I would go look at the one I posted. I rather buy one not done and do it my self than wonder how the work had been done.

Here is a link to St Louis Craigslist.

You never know what might show up.

Thanks Ken!

Initially wanted a project just like you said.If i get i done at least i know the work is done on it right! The problem is i have no skill at bodywork or any car related fields so have to relay on a shop to do it!For now i just keep looking and see what comes up!

I like other cars as well like '67 gto which i have found for in my price range!
Will send it to you email, don't want this site to be "littered" with non mopars :slap:

Thanks again,

Peter
