Ok...  I give...

How do you remove the bolts that hold the upper control arms?  I have removed all the nuts and the oblong washers but I am not able to 'budge' the bolt with a 16lb sledge hammer??   Is there a trick to this part of the project?   I am ordering new tubular upper and lower control arms so I am just trying to remove the old ones.

Thanks & GOD Bless,
Chad

Seriously, if you don't have a torch, beg, borrow, steel, one.
Those bolts are rusted solid, to the inner sleeve of the bushing.

I thought a torch might be the answer...  Thanks...

Damn!!! bushings were never replaced before? I never have known at least locally about need for a torch to remove them!

ACUDANUT

Heat up the area, do not melt the metal and hammer away.

Have you taken the load of the arm?

is the ball joint still attached to the spindle?

Original bolts can get stuck from 40 years of moisture and wear. My bolts needed persuasion.

Problem solved!! :)

Bottle Torch... Burned off the bushings and that freed up the bolts so I could get them out!!  Praise the LORD!!
