Old Pioneer M790 question for audiophiles

I have an old Pioneer audio system here and the power amp has failed on me a couple of times now.  The rest of the system works fine but in order to add a power amp to the rest I need a goofy sort of ribbon cable from the power amp to the control.  Does anyone else make a power amp with this ribbon cable that would be compatible?

To my knowledge, the ribbon cable bit was a proprietary bit specific to the Pioneer units.

I would assume that if you were using the system, you must have the ribbon cable that connected the amp to a pre-amp (control amp), something like a CX790 or CX770. You would need a Pioneer replacement amp that uses a similar interconnect to make it work, such as another M790. Or just invest in an integrated amplifier or another amp and pre-amp combo. Look on your local craigslist as there are usually vintage combos available for a reasonable cost. I would make sure whatever you choose does not use proprietary cables. Good luck.

Likely screwed then, I don't think Pioneer makes anything like that anymore.

There are many collectors of these old parts so I would try to find some forum to get what you need.  You can also try the guys that rebuild classic guitar amps.  Many of these folks make the parts they need.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
