Don't you just love it when an ad like this comes up? All original, look at pics and I thinks to myself here is an R/T so I should take a closer look. Some sellers just don't know what they're talking about.

I used to own a mopar because it was different, but now I know better.

How do you know it is not original ?

Painted over body bumper side moldings?  wtf

Ghoste

Or is it a 318 installed in an RT?  Inspite of the wording in the ad I doubt its an untouched survivor.

has anyone told him, that he is a liar ?

It's all original = it's all there
:shruggy:

Baldwinvette77

It's all original... but i added an R/t stripe for no reason  :shruggy:

Mogre

I emailed for photos of vin and tag. I am 1 1/2 hours away and would like to see an all original 69 Charger R/T 318 car.

Ghoste

Let us know what you find out.  (and 1 1/2 hours would put where?)

Along a similar vein... A gearhead friend of mine with an amazing 57 Fury was over for Chryslers at Carlisle a few months back. While he was catching up with his buddy who is also into Fin Cars. This guy had a spare tyre, perished but still inflated and never used out of another 57. He said they took turns huffing out of the valve and exclaiming " Its air from 1957!!!" .
He now tells me he can run faster, jump longer and feels more youthful. :smilielol:

I e mailed him and asked if he had any pictures under the hood and how long he has owned it

He said he would get me some pictures and that he bought it from the original owner and has had it for a year

I live about an hour east of Toronto

39k for a 318 he's high on somthing just when i thought local place to me was high wanting 29k for a 318 68 charger here, Am 4hrs south of toronto

bull

Those stupid body bumper things are hideous enough, and then someone decides they needed to be integrated into the pain job? :rotz:

Troy

I don't see what the big deal is. Lots of people put stripes on non-R/T cars. The seller isn't claiming that it's an R/T and even says it has a 318. Those moldings are ridiculous but that is far from the first car from "back in the day" that I've seen them on. Just hope they are put on with adhesive since most of those required holes for mounting pins! I don't think the color combo is original. If it is then that's a super rare car! I doubt it will sell at that price but, again, there's lots of overpriced cars...

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Ghoste

I think the bigger deal is just that he is claiming it to be all original when it clearly isn't.

John_Kunkel

Some people see a difference between "original condition" and "original", others don't.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

myk

It's originally from the planet Earth?

ws23rt

The meaning of the word original leaves no wiggle room for the truth. To add the word--all-- begs for a correction.

However every part on that car had an origin :shruggy:  Come on sellers--save everyone their time and trouble.

If you want to keep your car you can keep your car.  :smilielol:

He has relisted the car again with some better pictures

You can see the side molding is not painted over it is just that colour

Looks like a nice car

Nice car!  What color is that?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Tory, the modelings are the stick on kind. The riveted ones have metal end caps.

I am back

looks like  Y3 maybe Y2  , those colors always come out different in a photo &  lighting conditions , for some reason :shruggy:

36K :scared: :faint:  lot a lot of money   :Twocents:

:drool5: looks real good from the pictures though  , !!
although don't show much &   as we all know pictures can be deciving

**side note **  not really talking about this car now , but for sale ads in general ,   whats the point in putting a car up forsale with crap pictures ??   with digital & phone cameras can take as many as you like , unlike the old days when you had to have them developed  :shruggy:

Must have just cut off the last 8" of the side molding to fit the R/T stripe on.  The molding is just gross.

No pictures of the interior, engine bay, trunk, or underside.  If this is truly a 19,000km car then show the originality ffs!  This car is priced like an R/T!

Assuming ok interior, engine, and no rust, then this seems like a $16k car.  If it is documented on the mileage and fairly outstanding otherwise, then maybe $20k?

69RTSE

Totally unrelated.  the Car looks good in this yellow shade.  Is this the 69 Dodge Yellow color or is different.

Ghoste

I think its a Dodge colour, its supposed to be by the ad and it does appear so.

JB400

Lose the R/T stripe and this thing would scream sleeper, especially if you leave the side moldings on.

Mike DC

People have been misusing the term "all original" since the cars really were all original.  Big deal.

yeah going to sleep with the 318, sure anyday now.

Ghoste

Mogre, did the seller ever get back to you.  I would love to see the tag and know more about it.  If the car were listed without the stripe and side moulding we'd be wondering about the pale color, white interior, headrests, short guards, road wheels and on and on.

maybe has A01 light group  package too  :scratchchin:  think I spy a trunk light  , well not the lamp its self  just the  light    :P :shruggy:

Ghoste

Never got a reply at all. Makes me wonder why.

Ghoste

It could be as simple as he is getting alot of that sort of request but not too many offers to purchase.  :shruggy:

OldGuy

Which is it...?  Earlier pictures show exhaust tips, later pictures show turned down tail pipes.  :scratchchin:
"I can tell by your sarcastic undertones, rude comments and total lack of common decency, that you and I could be best friends".

Ghoste

I think the first group of photos are more recent because the stripe and tips would be easier to add for saleability.

RallyeMike

@ 19k miles and original paint he can pretty much set his price. While most of us would value it as less, there is a group of buyers out there that covet original cars and would pay a good premium. Unfortunately, I think the marketablity to this group has been damaged significantly by the removal of the section of door guard and puting the R/T stripe on it. More pictures woudl tell more, but it looks like a helluva nice car to me.
