I need help please... Was going to take the car out for Christmas tomorrow and decided to do a carb swap and try another carb I had here at the house. Got everything done and noticed some slack in throttle cable..went to tighten bracket and stud snapped off... Is the stud pressed in there or can I use an Easy Out or Left Handed Drill Bit and just put another bolt/stud through? I don't mind ordering another throttle bracket just looking for something temporary that will let me drive the car tomorrow. :brickwall:

Thank You and Merry Christmas!

File the broken stud flat then drill with a tiny drill bit through the center as a guide hole for a larger bit.  :scratchchin:

Stud is definitely pressed in there - has a spline type setup  - I think your best bet is to remove the bracket, heat it up a little and it should come out fairly easy

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!

heat it up, drive out the broken stud with a punch, and drill the hole for a bolt.....this may not be the easy road side repair that you asked for

Got a bag of zip lock ties? Or do the Red Green fix, Duct Tape!

I would try the zip lock first if you have them. Do it is a cross X shape. Might have to wrap some electrical tape around the bell to make it a little bigger so it will not slip under the zip ties.

Hose clamp may all so work?  :scratchchin:

Master of not doing it right Ken, posting hair brain ideas again.

I like this LOL!

I drilled it out and used a bolt with nut and washer, worked great. My Holley 770 started leaking fuel out of the glass sight windows and Jegs said send it back and they will ship me a new one so I took it off and a buddy let me borrow his Edelbrock Thunder Series 800 AVS. Should have her running tonight.
