Went for a Cruz today, took some pics. Just wondering if f3 is a rare color. I never see any like it.

As far as cars registered in that color it falls about middle of the numbers.  Maybe a little less than.  Nice car though.

myk

Nice car, glad you got some road time in.  Me?  I never made it out of the house... ::)

Just 6T9 CHGR

Might be fairly common in production #'s but pretty rare to see one restored to that color.  More often they are restored with a color change :(

Refreshing to see something different.  Nice ride!

Very nice. Actually better then very nice. :2thumbs:

I know tastes change as we mature[get old]......but I really get into the more subtle colors that better let the shape of a Charger itself show. :yesnod:

Your Charger in F3 is a very pretty color combo with the dark vinyl top.  People, nowadays, do not normally restore them to that color and I don't know why as it is very nice.

Glad you got to drive around Albuquerque and do some photoshoots with the Charger. It is relatively warm and sunny here today also. Low to mid 60's here for the high!  Nice !

timmycharger: your Charger is beautiful either color.  I like it the color it is now also!

Ghoste

I like the greens personally so I'm in full agreement.

Great looking car! Love the Cragers.

Imo, F3 is one of those colors that works on the 2nd gen with the black top and stripe.  Take one away, then,,,,, not so much.
At the same time solid F3 looks great on a Roadrunner.   Not as much real estate to cover.

Same goes for B3.

It was a toss up for me between B3 and 69 B7, literally a game time decision at the auto body supply store.  Now looking at old pics of my car in F3, its making me crazy..  :eek2:

I hear you brother!  Mine was B7 factory, but, silver for the 20 years (at that time) that I owned it.  B3 and F3 were in the final 3 choices.  Went with silver, but, second guess myself over B3, B7, F3 and a couple others when I see them.

My wife continues to remind me of all the shows I dragged her to where not one charger/color made me say "That's it"! - and that keeps me sane.

Wow, that's awesome, love 68's.

RGA

Yea, everyone wants bright colors. This is the original color, only other option was blue but. I'm happy with the original.

charge69

Mine was originally R6 and that is the color it was repainted.  If it would originally been F3, that is the color I would have repainted it also.  It is a very nice color.

UFO

Is it rare? not likely.
I like F3, but my opinion is a little bias.

Beautiful Charger R/T UFO !!  Lovin' it with the "recall" wheels.  Are they original or repros?

Ghoste

The white stripe tires are a nice touch too.

Very nice, another vote here too, gives it a lot more character than "just" black with magnums...those recalls really make the whole package

Green left green, IMO rare yes.  Of the greens I wonder if the F3 is more rare than F6.  I have seen several F3 cars done and thought it was a nice color.   This car looks nice to me..

Davtona

I have an F3 car also. I had never seen one that color before I bought it. It will stay the original F3. Thats just the way I am.  ::)  I hesitate to say its a rare color as not much appears to be classified as rare around here. However that color is not very shall we say common. Its not my 1st color choice but I bought the car because of other options it has. Color was secondary as I was just glad to get one with those options and that was in 1982.

Ghoste

Rare becomes more difficult when a group of a certain object is gathered together like this.  Greens in general were a popular paint choice for Chrysler products at the close of the 60's but F3 is one of the less frequently seen ones.  I applaud you staying with the F3 but mostly just because I like the color.  :icon_smile_big:

The top is Antique green(dark green).
The color/stripe combo is the way it was ordered.

flyboyedwards

My car may have been that color originally. Hard to tell I guess, and no tag to know for sure. I do like the color!

Ghoste

What color will it be now?

DixieRestoParts

I think back in the day, every other car coming off the production line was F3. But, you don't see many restored that way today. It doesn't age well, and I think most people associate the faded mid to late 70's F3 as what the color is and hate it. If I had a dollar for everyone that told me mine was an ugly color (since 1982 when I bought it) and to paint it orange with a Confederate flag, I could buy a restored Hemi Charger!

The paint in the top pic is faded cheapo repaint F3, but the wheels I painted in 2005. The bottom pic is from '83.

I agree it was a far more common color as far as production goes. The survivors rarely are repainted this color. I owned 3, still have 1. None were still F3 when I bought them and last I knew none were restored to F3.

My current car was F3 with black top and green guts. One sold car was triple green, one had black top and black guts.
