Previous owner of my new toy cut the spring and seal off of the gas cap so he could fit a locking cap under the flip top.  Is there anywhere that sells the spring and neck seal or am I buggered?

Or get a new or continue using the locking cap, it might be factory cap different if the locking cap is an option that's been ticked

Ghoste

The factory locking cap has an insert that fits inside the neck and uses the the same cap and spring assembly.

You might have to get a repro cap.

That's what I'm afraid of.

there 40 bucks not expensive at all....and look NICE!!!!!

Damn ghoste ,now you have made me want track down my early build 68! , locking cap rubber seal to cap no extension with spring and seal , who knows we're to get that locking cap new, , did I hear 40 bucks , I want one even more at that price,  will get photos of that cap and seal and see what you guys think ?

Right, the early 68 style, I wonder if that is what 68 (WA) had?  I don't think you can get a repro of those.

I forget the thread but I know Bull had posted photos of the early 68 style.  I think I saved them but no sense re-posting them if they are already here.
