Good lord!   It looks like a decent project but .... WOW!

 R/T SE 4spd! :drool5:
There are some things in the description though, that make me wonder. :shruggy: :Twocents:

- "THERE WAS ONLY 28 OF THESE MADE IN THE WORLD MAKING IT ONE OF THE RAREST MUSCLE CARS ON THE PLANET"
- "A34 : SUPER TRACK PAK W/4.10 RATIO with dana 60 ( a standard R/T would have 375 hp where the super track pack will boost it up to 425 hp) "
- "IT WONT TAKE MUCH TO PUT THIS CAR BACK IN ITS 6 DIGIT PRICE RANGE OF WHERE IT BELONGS"

polywideblock

he's just playing on the fact most ozzy's don't know what a numbers matching car is

just make up a story and someone will believe you   :scratchchin:

instead of asking they will later ague with you about how the seller said this or that as a n example  despite the point that its a 318 72 challenger by the vin , its a 72 R/t with its original 440 because that's what the seller said( had this argument  last year)    :shruggy:

there's always an expert that doesn't need to ask anybody .

$10K to $20K to restore.....yeah right, and the rest  :brickwall:

It's been up a few times , he puts the price up higher each time, to do properly , needs at least , no actually not going to go there, what ever we think its going to cost , it's going to be a lot more that, nice starting point , nice options but regardless it's still a big job , can see rust holes through one sill , what's trunk floor like ?

tan top

think that's the car , that Hlpag were originally trying to sell ,  a guy on here was asking what we all think & should he buy it  :yesnod: year or two ago , have looked for the thread last time it appeared for sale down under , to link the two & study the pictures again , but was not able to find the thread ,  anyways it was B5 & painted satin black when hlpag were selling it ,  :scratchchin: ,  there wernt many pictures we were studding  , one was from the driver side with door open , showed a pistol grip & 3 chrome ringed auxiliary gauges , sun tach on the column , it had carpets then  &still had the original front buckets  :yesnod:
if I come across the thread will post here  :yesnod:

I've been keeping an eye on this one too. It's been up for sale for a while.
Just Cars has it for $39k ONO here:
[are these the photos you mentioned tan top?]

It's located near me. Maybe I'll take a look just for the hell of it.

noo they are not the pictures !!   ,
the pictures i'm thinking of  are from the original hlpag advert & a guy posted them on here !   the same pictures appeared in a couple of different  threads few months apart   , different people asking is this a good buy etc  ,  if this indeed the same car( pretty sure it is ) ,  been looking for said thread , not found anything as of yet ,
yeah go & have a look , if not to far  !!  if the same car ,  would not stop me buying it if the price was right ( cheap )  least hlpeg have not worked their magic on it  & for every hour they have spent ( F**King it up , woops I mean restoring  ::) , you have spend a week putting  , that hours work  right  :yesnod:

wow and I was only pointing out that even though you complain about paying what  :scratchchin: 10 - 13 K for the same car .

if we look over here this is the price people expect for just a project  :shruggy:   the price of a nice driver  :RantExplode:

i'm  talking generally about  mopar & charger prices now , not just this  particular charger ,  yeah prices are crazy  ,  i'll be damned if I would pay that much , would look for another hobby , or try importing one my self  , prices on these cars are nuts ,
I seriously cant believe whats being asked , think internet has a lot to do with it sometimes free advertising or only pay when its sold , so put up what price you like , only need one guy with more money then brains  , job done !! if you had to pay for  advertising  like in the old days before internet   week in week out  in autotrader , local papers , magazines etc  would soon drop the price if you never had a call ( although the prices of the cars have gone up & spending a few hundred advertising a stupid price is no biggie ) )  , ( we all try to make a bit of money on cars we sell , good luck to ya )  but sometimes  the prices that are being asked  :brickwall:  don't know what i'm trying to say here & think I've gone off track a bit    :soapbox: ,  no offence ment to anyone or any sellers    :P
just going to wait for my bus  :shortbus:  :yesnod:

Lots of good points made in this thread. Folks here in Australia often pay a premium to get into this hobby. People want 50k plus just for XP cars, and 30k for resto's and POS cars, but in reality, it is often unknown what price is finally paid for a car if it eventually sells. I'm still watching cars that have been for sale for about five years.
Not sure if this link will work, but here are some examples of what I think are crazy prices:

I have met this guy once, have not seen the car but was told about it before it arrived. He is a flipper trying to make a buck.  He is very polite and good for conversation. Im sure he knows he wont get his asking price he's not silly, he is trying his luck.

buck0123

This was my old car sold it on ebay about a year ago. Nice car but needed a lot of work. looks like the new owner added some things and took out the center counsel.  NON matching engine and trans.
Ran and drove good just needed a lot of sheet metal,  decided to sell it because it will be cheaper/easier to buy one all done or a rust free project.

do you mind telling us what you got for it? If not I understand.

Hi All,

I've been on the forums for a while but have not posted as I am yet to buy a Charger, I live in Sydney Australia (not too far from this car) and have been looking on and off for a 69 for a while.

This car has to have been for sale for the best part of 6 months for this price, I'm sure in an auction around August last year this car got up to about $20,000 reserve not met.

I'm just amazed reading your post Buck0123 that he bought it off you for $8500 so recently, if you don't mind me asking was the car already in Australia or has he had to ship it etc ?
