  Got myself a fun easy project yesterday. All #'s matching 1969 Charger R/T SE. 109k original miles. It was a loaded car from the factory. PB, PS, A/C, rocker moldings, SE package, 440/auto console, white with black top, black stripe, and black leather interior. magnum wheels, and the RARE AM/FM radio. It has only been off the road for a year and only needs paint and reassemble. Rust free car. I am SOOO stoked to get this car! It was in Central Alabama. Here are couple pics.

This is kind of out of your norm.  Little harder to make money on them when they're in that state.

Looks like a nice clean slate & it's not green, wow!

A little O/T....I thought the red Daytona sold?

It "sold" the first time for $95500, never heard from the high bidder. The second high bidder contacted me right off the bat and asked to be called if bidder did not come through. I gave the high bidder 3 days to send deposit.. nothing.. contacted the other guy and he was debating between mine and the one moparstuart had listed for someone for $150k. Not sure what ever became of him he kind of faded away and i did not call him back. Tried ebay again with no luck so i kept it.  Not sure what the plan is for the future.

Funny it IS out of my norm, and it NOT being green for once is one reason i want to finish it.  The other is-I owned a white R/T clone a few years back and regrettably sold it. SOme will remember it is the same car that Elanmars had the horrific crash in and is lucky to still be with us. Here is the link to my new car..  i almost blew it off because it had no pics.

Another odd note... I just noticed my car was built 9/2/68.. that was Labor Day in 1968.. Would the assembly line have worked on Labor Day??? Weird

Your bidder #2 bought the other Daytona which is a 4-speed.

Well i am kind of glad that he did. He seemed to really want a 4 speed car.. the reason he was considering mine was the obvious huge price difference.  :2thumbs:

Believe it or not there are a few i am keeping. In fact, I am finally getting my collection the way I want it. If the car turns out as nice as i want it to, then yes it will be a keeper. The new pink 70 I got couple months ago my wife freaking hates, never dreamed that.. But really likes this 69 I just got.. Somewhere down the line i may have to ax the pink one, though i kind of like it. Pink is manly.. lol

I've seen dates on cars like that before and wondered the same thing. There are three possibilities in my opinion: 1. it was a stamping mistake. 2. They stamped them ahead of time with some amount of speculation as to when the car would be finished. 3. The demand for 68s was 500% higher than the year before so they were probably busting their butts to pump them out asap. And that means working overtime and holidays.

charger01

I worked for gm for 10 years and never ran production on any holiday.  May have been built on second or third shift into the holiday though.  Plus Iam not sure when that build sheet is produced. the day of, or when it hits the line.
