Lose the snow, add more ice, and you'd be in my area.

Well been 24hrs since the neighbourhood has had power :(
Thank goodness the prior owners of this house saw fit to install a 17kw generator  :2thumbs:
Hope everyone affected by this weather is keeping warm and safe.

Winter is a bitch, but beautiful at the same time!  Great pictures!  Stay warm, and drink lots of water!

Yeah that looks like about the same treatment old man winter gave us around the Detroit area as well . . . .brrrrrr
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

The after math from this storm continues :eek2:
This has become a serious make work project both now and in the spring :icon_smile_blackeye:
I'm already dreaming of warmer days and rewarding my yard work with a cruise in the Charger :icon_smile_big:

So many branches are broken and yet too fall, if your yard looks anything like mine stay safe and watch for falling limbs :o

And it's been 40hrs SO FAR with no hydro to this area! All my neighbours have left for warmer places too stay.
Very fortunate to have a generator hooked up to the house so we haven't had to go without anything.

If you don't have one of these bad boys hooked up to your house you might wanna consider it.
I keep tropical fish and they would all be dead or dying by now without it.
Stay safe and keep warm and have a happy holiday

I need one of those generators.  We planned on having one installed in the spring but the contractor never called as promised so we let him go.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I can't believe how well these things work! Runs absolutely everything in the house and outside the house. Been doing laundry, automatic dishwasher, cooked a roast in the oven LMAO, all while running 5 fish tanks, furnace , etc etc etc
FANTASTIC I say!! :yesnod:
If I ever move again, the next house will have one or get one.... Only lived in this house for a short time and that generator has proven to be a blessing.
I've never had the pleasure of having a permanent one in a house I've lived in til now. It's hooked to the natural gas and needs no attention from me.
Can't say enough praises for how well and seamless this setup works. I lost power for aprox. 30 secs to a minute.... 42hrs later the power still isn't on anywhere but here

That's awesome!  We need one desperately, we just dodged a bullet again but not too long ago it was us in the dark for 2 days again.  It usually happens in summer when the power can be gone for days and we need to find a hotel fast!

How much juice does that puppy deliver?  I'd like to be able to run a/c, fridge, tv and a few lights at least.

Those Generac's work great. We put one on the farm because AEP Electric services that area and if someone farts during a storm of any kind the electricity goes out.  :RantExplode:

It's a 17KW generator which is enough too run this ENTIRE HOUSE. Btw house is 2200 sq ft with fully finished bsmt.
My fridge, furnace, fish tanks, lights, laundry, cooking etc haven't been affected at all by this outage.
47hrs without utility power and they are saying it could possibly be another 4 days before power is restored  :eek2:
Money well spent IMHO
I'll be cooking a turkey tomorrow regardless of my power company and my kids will enjoy their Christmas
