Fred, the Funny Farm movie is great! "Yellow Dog", guaranteed not to run away! Then the scene when he moves the Labs tail out of fireplace! Too funny!

I also like Its a wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and The Family Stone.

Yeah, the Lab slowly starting to catch fire.....too funny.......guaranteed not to run away under any circumstances it seems.
Christmas Vacation, definitely worth a watch.
And Erika loves "The Family Stone" but then she pretty much likes all S J Parker movies.

A Christmas Story definitely.

Anyone remember the Christmas movie with the guy who played Millner from American Graffitti????

Old Moparz

Found this about 10 or 12 years ago when I was searching for some info on line about a Christmas movie I had never heard of, or saw before, & found something else by accident. This one is a home made movie done with almost no budget called, Vendetta - A Christmas Story   It was funny, but also because of the cheesy special effects. When I saw that you can get the movie for free, I sent an email to get one. Now all the guy wants is a few stamps to cover postage, but it's still worth it.

I have a copy of the DVD & it's "the director's cut" where he tells you about how he borrowed a video camera to make it. He also asked people he knew to be in it that had cars so they could use them in the movie.   :D   Send some postage & get a DVD, it's worth it.

(Copied from the FAQ page)

Here are a few of the things you may be wondering before you see Vendetta.

What is Vendetta?
It's a 22 minute Christmas film in the tradition of your favorite 80's cop shows.   It's got everything you need to get in the holiday spirit; snowflakes falling, sleighbells ringing, bullets ricocheting... hey, what's Christmas without a little .45 caliber action?

How can I experience Vendetta myself?
It's easy. Just download the video clips from this site and enjoy.   Each of the five clips is around 8MB, and each is easily worth it's weight in gold.

Is Vendetta really that good, & is it worth the download?
Absolutely.   To help put it in perspective, we have calculated some helpful comparisons.   You could download the first clip of Vendetta or:

  • Half of the latest web browser
  • 112 high quality pornographic images
  • Most of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in MP3
  • Twelve copies of the Kenneth Starr Report
  • The first chapter of the Ringo Starr Report (including illustrations)

But unlike any of these other options, only Vendetta will change your life from "ho-hum" to "wee!".   No offense Mr. Starky.

Do I need any special software?
You only need QuickTime 3 which you want anyway.   It's free, and all the cool stuff on the web that you've been looking for requires QuickTime 3.   Trust us.

Why did you use Quicktime 3?
Downloading (and installing) QuickTime 3 AND Vendetta will still take less time than downloading Vendetta in a standard format.   Plus it looks and sounds great.   If you don't believe us, go check out TROOPS, another awesome internet film that uses QuickTime 3.   Don't live in the dark ages!   Think Different!   Get QuickTime 3 now and join the revolution!!!   ...ahem.   Sorry.   There is no revolution.

Is Vendetta: A Christmas Story appropriate for Children?
Vendetta could probably get on Network TV, but these days that's not saying much.   Aside from a brief appearance by the "S" word, it's totally kosher...   as long as the kids don't mind seeing Santa Claus tote a gun.

Is Santa Real?
Yes.

Can I get a video copy?
Sure. Just email us at webmaster@vendettachristmas.com.   Currently we're able to do this free of charge.

Can I sue you?
Sure.   You can sue us for whatever you like.   I must admit that everyone involved with the production of Vendetta is pocket-lint broke.   The film cost about $100 to make, including video tapes.   If you feel that we have somehow violated your sales space with Vendetta, please feel free to have your head examined.   If that doesn't help, email us.

Along with some of the afore mentioned, I just love "Bad Santa" but I have to watch it by myself, Fred doesn't like it.

I like Dan Aykroyd as crazy villainous Santa in Trading Places, but it's not really a Christmas movie.

So I vote Christmas Story, especially because it was filmed in my home town of Cleveland, Ohio.

Bad Santa

Be  forewarned, the language in that movie could make a sailor blush. I think it holds the record for F-bombs in a mainstream movie. Seriously.  Watching it WILL land you on the naughty list.

Elf and "Vacation" probably rank higher, especially if I'm going to be watching in mixed company.

Quite right, the language is really foul. (I don't like the movie at all) But it is MA rated .....which my sister in law didn't check when she bought it to watch with her young family. They were all pretty shocked and she promptly switched it off and threw it out.

That's right, some of us have become so de-sensitised we don't give it a second thought.  I have a niece who uses it in every sentence without even realising. And it never even occurs to her that some people might take offense.  Fred's the best, he gets by without it. He very rarely lets fly.

I know the movie would be better without all the swearing but it's still a good movie and I can get through it without being offended.
(I think I'm a bit like that kid........not phased by much)
