Possible alternative to Billet Magnums...

I installed these wheels on my car a year ago with the intent possibly blacking out the recesses to give them more of a Magnum look. Haven't gotten around to finishing the project, but I had someone photochop a pic for me. I'm liking it.

What do you think, paint or not?

For those interested, these wheels run $160 from discount tire direct, versus $399 for billet magnums (not including caps).

I have found a way to attached magnum center caps, but I don't like the look... at least not before painting the wheels.

Might try and do a photochop on the entire car later.

Hmm. I dunno. I like Magnums, and I think those would look decent with the paint -- but then I look at your sig with the picture of your car, and I think I like it just the way it is -- looks great -- rims as they are and that tire combo....

Just curious what size rims/tire combo is that?

Return them for a refund and then fix this cancer with the money!

Those do kind of look like Magnums but life has taught me some lessons in the 'close but no cigar' category before. Usually by the time I screw around trying to make something cheaper look like the real deal I'm out more time, out more money and lost a few months from my life than if I'd just bought the real deal. Maybe you're more lucky than I am.

I'm not sure which I like better.  :ahum: Can you get a pic of the entire side of the car w/& w/o the blacking?

I think the black will look good.  Id like to see it with the center cap as well

Rick was out looking for wheels and mentioned the Hot Wheels to me before I had a chance to mention Jim's car to him last fall.
And while I saw the pics of Jims before,  I hadn't seen them in person until Rick showed up with them on the front at LVD.   I recall trying to find an online pic of Jims car somewhere to send to Rick but I couldn't locate one at the time   :P

Rick spent a few minutes saying how he really didn't much like the regular Magnum 500's due to some fitment issues but I don't recall all the details right now.

Here's a pic Khyron took at Rick's shop when we were there in Nov.

Rick doesn't like Magnums because they aren't hub centric and have a tendancy to wholler out the bolt holes over time.

Neither are these unless you bore out the center enough to install a locator ring, which Rick did plan on doing.

Sorry...  but he doesn't accept insults from people hiding behind cute screen names  ::)    You'd need to include your full name.

You can't really tell from that angle, but those caps really stick out far. The wheels don't have as much dish as I would have liked. I'm thinking about getting some of the stubby Mustang caps and putting a Mopar bulls eye over the pony.

I'd say that's your best bet.
