 I was cruising around eBay and I came across this auction. This company is licensed to build Pontiac T/A's from new Camaros. Looks like great workmanship. I would like to own one, or two! What do you all think?

The black one near erin mills    and dundas   :)

It looks forced somehow to me.  I've seen other ones though that I liked well enough.

bull

Not much different than the Cuda version of the new Challenger, which did little for me.

Ghoste

Great analogy Curtis.  Same thing here, the Cuda-ized Challenger looks forced to me.

That's the one ;)

I think they make a look-alike GTO Judge as well.

JB400

Not bad, but I'd like to see what Pontiac itself would have done with the new car.

Ghoste

What platform are they making the GTO off of, the Camaro as well?

JB400

Yes, unfortunately.  Camaro platform.  Too bad they wouldn't make the Impala SS a 2 door as well.  It'd lend itself to those that would like a Chevelle or other A body

I think I know what you mean here - there's a couple things that look 'off' to me

The styling of the new Camaros is mostly based on the 67-69 Camaro, and so any Pontiac clone should be based on the first-gen, for the body lines to match well.   However, the features on this car are obviously based more on the late 70's T/A, so it looks 'weird'.  I expect to see that hood and grille on a car with a really long nose, and those taillights don't look like they were updated for the newer design of the car, they almost look like someone just yanked a set of tails out of an old bandit car and painted them up.

The new cuda-fied Challenger is at least based on the E-Body of the same years, so the lines kind of work.

I think they should have shot for this:

[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
[ŌŌ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ŌŌ] = 69
(ŌŌ)[ƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗ](ŌŌ) = 70

yup..I had one of those...damn good cars in my opinion

I don't care much at all for the new Camaros so it don't look good to me. I did like the old 67-69 firebirds even with not liking the Camaros of the same years.

No. It is a Camaro. Pontiac is dead, T/A is Pontiac, also dead. let the dead rest in peace. Looks like a Frankenstein car.

Sorry, just my opinion.

While i think it looks better than a new camaro, I still don't care for the overall look of the car which is the fault of the camaro design itself.  TA or camaro doesn't really matter to me, the whole time they were being built they always looked almost exactly alike with only small cosmetic differences.

No Prob. Too bad Pontiac is gone. It would been cool to see how they would design the T/A's.

With the current state of GM and the triumph of badge engineering overall my guess is that it would look very much like the Camaro if GM allowed Pontiac to build it at all.

triple_green

I really like those. But I have a problem because I love t tops. I also like having a car that not everyone else has (even though it is really a Camaro).

I also have a problem with it costing more than double price of a highline Camaro. So I'll wait to see what happens to the price in 5 years or so.

I have my t tops fix now with a black 99 t top firebird that I picked up with only 70K miles on it.

Maybe after I get all the kids though college.....

Same here; I have a '99 T/A that I cloned up to be a WS6 car.  Personally, I don't think the 5th 'Gen Camaro or this 5th 'Gen Firebird-custom holds a candle to the 4th 'Gens styling wise; waste of effort, if you ask me...

jaak

I don't think it looks that bad. It sure looks better than a stock Camaro.... they are  :eek2:
