Not sure if there is any interest , I have no affiliation with this company but I purchased a set for my Charger and love them. Something different , seems everyone these days has personalized plates.
Cool thing in Ontario you can't sell personalized plates with the car but these YOM plates CAN be transferred to the new owner when/if you sell your car.

Last year at New Hamburg only a handful of cars had these plates and I wondered if people knew where too get them, maybe I'd see more???

Dreamcar

I didn't buy them of this site, but I just picked up a nice used set of 69 plates (for my 69 Charger obviously) in the local online classifieds. I was looking at condition and for a number I liked. I should get them this week! There's actually quite a few around, but not all have both (front and back).

Yes they do cost the same as personal plates
I asked about how it works the last time I was in the local DMV
It really just works out to be a personal plate because they look up the number to make sure no one else has that combination before they let you use it

They cost $251.65 and you send the plates and your ownership to MTO for approval. Doesn't take long for them to check if the number sequence is in use.
So yes , cost the same as personalized plates but you have the added benefit of being able to sell with car.
And they just look soooo cool IMHO, my only problem is people keep asking me what the significance of my numbers are??!! :shruggy:

War wagon

I can't be about the cost ?? That more aren't running these plates?? The amount of money that gets put into one of these cars over time , the cost of the plates just don't seem unreasonable too me. I plan on keeping the car for many many years.

Always check with the license office on the plate numbers before you buy a set of plates...I have tried a bunch that were already "in use".

Great advice! The company I bought from that's in the link, offers a gaurentee the numbers will be ok for use.
I had no issues at all, after I received my plates sent them and ownership to MTO for approval and a couple weeks later they came back with a letter stating they are ok for use. So I took them the letter and the ownership to MTO office and now I have 1969 plates on my 1969 car
I believe that company pre checks that the plate numbers aren't in use and offer a gaurentee should they be to exchange for another set

Pretty early numbered plates, the sequence for the plates start at 1000, so that set of plates are really 1820, I too have an early four didget set. Here's the 1-800 number for Y.O.M. in Kingston, 1-800-387-3445, You can call them Mon to Fri,  8:00 till I believe 4:00, and they can confirm if the plates you have are Ok or that they are registered to a vehicle at this time.  I was involved with the Yorkville Exotic Car Show earlier this year, the A/C cobra had a pair of really clean 66 plates on it, I had to ask where he found such a nice set, he replied, he had one crappy plate, and some small business somewhere reproduced his plates, I was not aware that was possible, Hmmm, fake car, fake plates wow, those phord guys!!!!!

James, I'm thinking of entering my Charger into the 2014 Yorkville Exotic Show.....looks like a good experience.

I was in the 2014 Marque D'Elegance show in Burlington....same concept....street show. I was one of the few classics surrounded by all the super exotics.

Those plates are titled too my car. The company I purchased from even has NOS sets, I was checking their site this am for the hell of it and there are 3 sets of 71 plates that start with 727!!!
The fewer the numbers the more valuable the plates become.
Don you should enter that show and as many others as possible..... More folks need to appreciate that car of yours  :coolgleamA: :2thumbs:

Don;

I was set up thru the Tim and Brenda's Place program. It was the first year that hot rods and classic cars were in the show. At the time, I had to enter pictures of my car and wait for someone to ( someone in the general public ) to sponsor me. Took about 24 hours. If you are interested, and if there is a list to fill, I will make sure you are on the list. Tim and Brenda's were responsible for having ten cars available. The Yorkville show and the Tim and Brenda's show both are affiliated with the fight against prostate cancer, hence the Yorkville fathers day date.....
