My favorite part about this ad - the guy says he bought it just to save it from the crusher, but if you don't buy it, it's going straight to said crusher.

So let me get this straight - he's in the habit of spending good money on cars, then having them crushed if nobody buys them?

I think the 'if nobody gives me money I'm gonna destroy this car' guys are even more annoying than the 'would be a 200K car with paint and tires' guys

LMAO...ok thats way too funny

Maybe he bought it for a part of a six pack of beer, a broken comb and a small package of beef jerky??
It doesn't make sense if he used dollars.

Cooter

Silly rabbits, haven't ya ll heard???
Selling 101.....dudes gonna get paid either way. Of course, he's lookin to weed out low ballers with that comment.
Laugh if you will, but it works. We don't know how many parts he's selling off that thing BEFORE it goes to said crusher, or how much he's in it. Only thing would make this ad better? If it was a 1of1 six pack car....

Lowballer.   Now there's another thread.

When exactly do you become a Lowballer?   Especially when the comment almost always accompanies a car that stupid over priced?

Same with "serious buyer".   I don't know if I'm serious until I see it in person.

After it gets to the point that it sounds like I will get beat up if I don't buy, I just move on to the next ad.

I was at the junkyard yesterday getting a part for a friends car and saved a 67 383 2 door monaco 500.  100% complete car with buckets and floor shift. Paid 925 with title.  Couldn't see it go to scrap.

No great loss to the car hobby if it does go to the crussher.

The "crusher" just might be the demo derby at the next county fair.  :yesnod:

Geeze. $950 doesn't sound that bad.  :shruggy:
I read the ad, didn't seem like a crusher hostage situation to me. More like a crusher rescue.
What does a car go for at the crusher these days?

Something weighing that much would probably fetch about 500$ in Canada, well, Ontario at least.

Very true.

Indeed, I honestly don't see any collector appeal for this car what so ever.  Maybe if it was a survivor with a nicer driveline already done up by someone else (or done by a MOPAR guy with a spare big block), but not as a base for a restoration.

I was thinking the same thing.   Mock up an old gumball for the top.
