grill sanding and where to buy paint?

I am about to the painting stage on my 70 grilles and I am curious as to where people are buying the argent silver and flat black paint. Also, how the hell are people sanding these? I have 2 grilles that I am restoring and am hoping that there is an easier way to sand these than to pain stakingly sand each little grille fin piece by piece. I cringe at the amount of time it would take. Any tips would be appreciated.
thanks

I've heard that Totally Auto makes the most accurate rattle can paint for grills.

That is where I ordered mine from, but I am still in the process of repairing my grill.

There is a grill restoration topic if you do a search.  :2thumbs:

I did. Did not find what I was looking for on the sanding. I heard of someone soaking the grill in degreaser to strip it, but being a 70 grill, that is not a good option as it does not disassamble and I do not have anything big enough to fit the grill in. Not to mention the small fortune it would cost in degreaser to fill a container large enough to fit a 70 grill in. Not as much info on 70 grill restores as there are for 68-9/ :'(

When I restored the grill on my 69 I used SEM paints. Satin black and Metallic Titanium.  :Twocents:

I did too, and I think twodko gave me the same advice. The paint looks great.

You can have the grille soda blasted and cleaned.  That will give it just enough bite to put two thin coats of plastic adhesion promoter followed by the top coat.  No need to sand every little fin on that thing.
