An Air Force move back in 2006 made me leave my '70 in PA, and my '72 came back with me to Alaska.  I recently bought a house in Florida with a nice 3 car garage so I was able to get 'em back together finally. Drove the '70 from PA to FL in oct (nice drive on the blue ridge parkway) and picked up the '72 from the shippers last week.

Actually, the house is nice but I bought it because of the garage  ;)

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

AKcharger

Thanks everyone  :icon_smile_big:

- 6t9 its Brooksville, about 50 miles north of Tampa
- acuda it's not that AK got boring, I guess we did. After 12 years we do less and less winter stuff, so in turn just work and hibernate...we can do more of the stuff we like year round in fl.

Nice. A three car garage is the next best thing to a shop.

looks like there is room for one more

Well I was hoping if I left the two of them alone for a while I might find one of those charger 2.2's in the open bay  :smilielol:

Plum Crazy 68

That is a sweet looking 72'

In 1972 I knew a kid who's parents had that same blue for their shag carpet and drapes.  Even their toilet, bathtub, and floor tile was in the same blue. :coolgleamA:

myk

You DROVE your car all the way from PA to FLA?!   I'll bet the garage queen types are fainting as we speak...

Ghoste

I'd do it in a heartbeat.  I'm hoping to drive from Detroit to LA next year sometime.

NHCharger

Nice. As mentioned above, quite a climate change from Alaska to Florida.
Did you retire from the Air Force?
Going to need to change your board name to FLAcharger.
Next time I visit my Dad in FLA I'll drop by for a visit. He's in Englewood a few hours south of you.
I have to ask how did you pick Brooksville? Back in 92 during the recession I couldn't buy a job. My wife and I looked into moving to FLA and actually stayed for a week in the Homosassa Springs area. Didn't like the heat, humidity , bugs, snakes, lizards, etc. . . . . . Decided to stay put (glad I did).

Florida is one state where everything wants to kill you.  heat, humidity , bugs, snakes, gators, sharks and stingrays. errr

Alaska is I guess, would be:  the cold, bears and wolves.

JB400

Just wait till hurricane season :icon_smile_blackeye:

Glad to see you're able to enjoy both of them again, together :2thumbs:

AKcharger

 - Correct NH, I retired back in June of '11. We love AK but we've done all the outdoors stuff we wanted and now find we just sit inside all winter, effectively wasting 1/2 the year...life is too short. I picked Brooksville because my wife and I grew up there with family nearby.  In addition for what I paid for the house My AF retirement is enough to comfortable live on. I  work for a little airline and plan to commute to our base in Boston...we'll see how that works out ( remember I asked you about moving to NH once)...if its too much of pain I'll quit and sit home and play with my cars

Hurricanes...lol it should be safe

Anyone is welcome to stop by!  House even has a big pool too  :icon_smile_tongue:

JB400

If you don't pour the whole driveway, at least pour an approach.  Looks like you might have issues with rain water getting in under the door, depending on how they did the garage door cutouts.

AKcharger

Well the Garage is officially DONE! the place was the "dumping ground for boxes after the move but we ruthlessly got rid of junk and got everything finally finished. Problem now is I don';t want to work in it for fear of getting it dirty lol  :slap:
- Driveway poured
- Clear coated floor with chips
- Got some banners to hide all the "stuff" under the workbench (Thanks to Dino for the graphics help!)
- My old 1991 Kenwood rack system provides constant stream of van halen mucic
- Also found something to do with my retirement flag!!

What do ya think....

TUFCAT

WOW man!!   That's super nice! ....actually its beyond NICE!  :2thumbs:  :nixon:

Looks Great, what a good sized suburban garage!
But, it looks like it could do with a Charger party to celebrate, so, time to round up your Gear Head buddies and get them over with all their cool cars cluttering up the street for a few beers and a bbq. We'll need photos too - lots of them.

It works at my place

Would be fun! I'd do it if I knew enough people would show. And correct on size, a 3 car give the right amount of room to move & work

Yup, that's why I was careful when I hung it so we can reuse it and the Mrs. can save a few $$ when I die  :engel016:

Oh Sorry Ride...Yup had them made by "banners on the cheap.com" $33 each though I had then custom cut to fit the counter. They will put anything you want on 'em and I an very happy with the quality
