Good Evening...I bought all the available harnesses from Year One  a couples years ago, finally opened them
and there is no harness for the dome light. Is this normal ? If so does anyone have one for sale ?
Thanks Blair.

Mopar Nut

I bought my complete wiring from Yearone too for my 69, didn't come with the dome harnesses either. Yearone who bought the licensing rights from Chrysler has M & H make them, who you might try. Here's M & H website.

I don't think they make a "harness" for the dome light since it's just a single wire running to it. My 68 is currently in pieces. I'll check tomorrow

dome light should have 2 wires running to it...one pink, one yellow

That's crazy!  Why would they leave that out?  A few weeks ago a member found out there was no wire running to the brake warning switch.  Why would they not add those few simple wires?  The harnesses are expensive enough, you'd think they were complete.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I'm only guessing but I think the forward, rear and dash are the three most commonly hacked into, chewn up and just generally deteriorated into a non functioning fire hazard.  Plus they are simple to replace compared to pulling out a headliner or tearing down a console.
But that said, I fully agree with you.

thought  dome light harness should of been there , as its standard equipment when I done mine   :yesnod:
,  think that's the answer ,  if the harnesses included  all the optional wiring for every option that the car would could of been ordered with , would cost more  &  lots of spare wires not connected to anything if that particular charger has not got option X or y  etc

Dino , that brake warning switch wire should of been there !! what car  was it M& H harness ?

Charger_Dart

I recently purchased a rear harness for our 68 Dart convertible from Year One (M&H)

In the vert the factory put 2 console like lights in the rear seat foot well area instead of a dome light. I thought it was really odd they included the light harness and light socket assembly for the drivers side, but only a plug connector for you to reuse the extension to the one on the passenger side. These things were standard on all verts so why just supply one side and not the other!

they don't include the overhead interior light harness in case it's a convertible car....

I just bought and installed a dash harness from year one. It definatly does not have the dome light section. It does have the brake light wire.It also does not have the harness which iluminates the map light ,the ash tray, ignition switch and the glove box,I thought that was lame given the price even though its an option I would bet allot of cars have it. So I used my old one for those items.Hope this helps....Dave
