Craaap mine's complete but has that little sag/dip in the top center section, pretty straight everywhere else.   You're right, he stole it.  Good on him.   Maybe the seller has more parts, too :)

Anyone know an easy fix for the dip?  I've seen pics of lots of cars that still have it, so it's a common problem.

For the dip?  Gently heat up the entire top section (I am not kidding, this shit will turn liquid before you know it).  Have a few pieces of padded 2x4 ready to stick in there to keep the plastic where it needs to be.  Once cooled you'll be good to go.

Just to be clear, this is what I'm talking about - would a hair dryer do it? Would a heat gun melt it?   I think you're suggesting to stick the 2x4's in there to hold it while it cools back in place, right?   Would it be easier to do off the car?

That's where most of them sag.  A hair dryer will work, a heat gun will as well but you need to keep the heat within a reasonable range.  The old plastic is brittle and when you heat it up it has a fairly narrow window of pliability before it becomes liquid moosh.

The 2x4, or anything else that fits in there, is to keep it in shape while it cools yes.  Of course you want to find something to stick in the grille before you heat it up.  You 'can' do repairs while it's in the car but I'm afraid you're going to have to remove it.  When the trim is bent you can do to the plastic what you want but it won't work because the bent trim will keep the plastic bent so it needs to be removed.  When you get the plastic in shape and put straight trim on, it will help keep the plastic in place.

There are ways to fix both while it's in the car, but you'll be swearing a lot.  Bite the bullet, take it out and make it look like new again.   :Twocents:

I'll give ya $55 for that thing!

Even with the corners missing and a few more repairs to do, you will be able to make your money back with a nice chunk of extra change.  These go for well over a grand in good shape.  You can just resell it as is and make hundreds, or you can put some time in it and make lots more.  either way, you're gonna have some extra cash!   :2thumbs:

If you have a bar in your house, you mount it over top of it and rig up the lights and headlight doors to work.  Then every time a girl takes off her top in your bar, you flip the lights on.  A horn will add greatly to the effect.
Oooooooor, you could buy a 68 to stick behind it?

I had 33 bucks in gas, and 1 cappuccino my friend. :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

Anyway, as many have posted an pm'd about this grill and I surely do not need it. What could I ask for it (fair price) and will I be bashed and criticized to death for being a flipper or scammer? I am an honest man with good values.

I would have a better chance at buying a 68 before my wife would allow a bar. :smilielol:

Geeze you stole that!!  just goes to show deals are still out there!! Reminds me of when I went to buy my 69 Charger and they stated in the ad that a extra 68 grille came with the car and then I load up the car and see the grille in the corner of the garage and ask to go ahead and load it and the woman I was buying the Charger from states "well we looked and we can get about $1000 for it on Ebay" I said yeah and it stated in your ad it was included!! She just shrugged.... I would have got really pissed but I did have a 69 Charger I had just bought for a really good price.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Wished I had the talent for repairs but the extent of my repairs on such an item is duct tape. :smilielol:

After seeing this, I'm the one owing the beers.     :smilielol:

Hmmm Cudanut, I went to verify what you posted, and the only reference I could find to that quote is on a site called homohistory.com.  Which makes me wonder: What were you doing on a site called homohistory.com in the first place?

Glad someone here got the grill, finally my time wasted on craigslist  pays off.

Tilar

The only part of it that makes it worth money is the center section because it does look in good shape. The outer ends need a ton of work just to make them usable. I'd say it's a $400 grill.  :Twocents:

Thanks Tilar. That's what I was thinking, 4-5 hundred.
